having grown up in the town near the last home of David Crockett and gone to school with several of his decendents I have heard of him all my life. my home town of Rutherford, TN has a week long David Crockett Days celebration each October. we have a replica of his last home, built with some logs from his last home on the school grounds. it gets many visitors from all over each year. we have one gentleman from Denmark that still comes every few years. if you are ever in NW TN it is open from Memorial Day weekend thru Labor Day weekend and the first full week in October. lee
