Default If not for bad luck

If not for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

After the snow storm last week my right leg was in pain with sciatica . About 3 day's ago my left leg started to hurt. Last night I said it's time to get checked out so I went to the Emergency Room after several hours they told me I have a blood clot in my lower left leg. Several years ago I had one in my right leg. So now I'm back on the blood thinners.
Oh the golden years what a crock of poop !!!!!!

I was right there with ya Bob.
While it snowed outside I was writhing on the floor in pain with a severe case of sciatica.

I'd say you had good luck. They caught the clot before it broke loose and did serious--- possibly fatal damage. You're still with us.

As a kid, we used to laugh every time "Sylvester" used to say: "thuferin' thiatica!" on the cartoons. Now that I'm older and suffer from it, it's just not that funny anymore. Glad the doctors were able to diagnose and treat your problem, and hope that you're feeling better soon.

Tha...tha...tha...that's all folks!

Regards,

Dave

I use to not pay attention to little pain when i'd have it.But I learned a life saving lesson in 06.My wife and even my boss on my job kept telling me to go check out the big knot I had in my neck. Finally I did and my doctor told my wife a couple more days she would have become a widow. It was a cancer tumor, now if I sneeze to many times in a day i'm at my doctor office.Just had to share that!

Golden Years . . . ? I'm waiting for the gold. Wife has severe rhumatoid arthritis w/complications and I walk w/a cane. Sometimes things are just not fair (ever hear that before).

Glad they caught it before it got worse. Get well soon.

Sometimes when I'm with people I've known since childhood, and we get started on the ailments discussions, I laugh to myself at becoming one of the people I dreaded being.

I am at the age where if it doesn't hurt, it doesn't work. About the best thing I have left is a full head of hair...which has now started sprouting on my ears, out my nose, and basically grows from my forehead to my toes.

Glad they caught it early.

As soon as I read the subject line, in my head I heard:

Gloom, despair and agony on me.
Deep, dark depression. Excessive misery.
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
Gloom, despair and agony on me.

I can also still sing the theme song to Green Acres, both parts. Kinda gives away my age range.

If sciatica was a person, I would walk up to it and throw them into a volcano so they would die. My Dad has it and it causes him a great deal of pain and limits what he can do.

Suzie, my cardiologist said the 81 mg of aspirin I take once a day helps prevent heart attack and stroke. It makes me bruise easily, but that's not a problem.

Suzieqz I have been taking a 325 mg. asprin a day for several years. After my last blood clot I had to have 4 shots a day into my belly for a week then was put on Coumadin for a year or so after that they put me on the asprin.
Now they've got my on 15 mg of Xarelto twice a day. I'll be going back for more blood work Monday.

A friend came down with Sciatica, lots of pain.

Later, he received a check for $30,000 from his late mothers estate.

The pain WENT AWAY. He was busy making travel plans.

***? Go figure.

Yea, extra 30K anyone?

2 years ago I had a severe pain in my right leg to the point it was hard to walk. When the leg turned purple I went to the ER. Sure nuff, blood clot. I was treated for 3 days. I now take Warfarin. Doc said I would be taking that for the rest of my life.
