My worst dream.....
Being 73 years of age it finally hit me what the worst thing that could
happen to me when I was young and going out to the dance halls
and dancing with all the young sweet girls and drinking.......
When I went to the men's room and saw two streams coming out of me!!
I am blessed that the "Red light" never showed up in my mirror.
I am not saying I drink a lot........
but being half cowboy and later an Ironworker.........
I have been know to drink all night and not have the same drink twice.
Party hard.... but be safe, if possible.

We grow up or die. Worse yet we kill someone else.
I count myself as one of the lucky partiers. Looking back, I still I can't believe the ignorant **** I used to do. Thank God no one got hurt.
These days if I'm gonna have even one drink I'm gonna do it where I don't have to drive. I'd hate to be in an accident after having just one beer. Who needs the hassles?
Please don't drive impaired.

I think a lot of us were pretty good at partying. I had one rule that I did not break, I would not drink and drive. I spent some uncomfortable nights in the back seat on on the floor of someone house. I finally grew up. I have a drink at home.

I tried to keep my brains about me...
...but sometimes during those years I was a little over the edge.

Yeah Ed; I'm like you only drink when I'm with somebody or alone. Remember some nights that I wondered where I was. Now at advanced age I don't do that anymore. My 2 son in laws have seen me drive while really bagged & wonder how I could drive like I never had a drink in my life. Never had a 502 but certainly deserved several. Now at almost 86 I don't drive at night & any drinking I do is at home. Not much of that either.

I drank quite a bit years ago and did do some questionable driving. I grew up and got smart and don't do that any more. Now when I have a drink it generally gives me a headache so I seldom have anything alcoholic any more. I do enjoy a Guiness or a craft beer now and again because I just can't resist a good beer. Give me one black and tan and I'm a happy camper. (even if it does result in a headache).

Never really quit drinking, I just don't drink much anymore. I do like a good Guiness now and then though and I do like a little whiskey now and then around the Holidays.
What got me was how big a waist of money it was with zero return turning alcohol into "saltwater". Wasn't bad when a draw of beer was 25 cents (10 cent happy hour), then jumped to 50 cents then 75. Bottle beer was a buck. Mixed drinks were a buck, buck and a half. Now tap (draw) beer is a buck, buck and a half. Bottle is a couple bucks plus. Mixed drinks $4.50 and even much more higher. That and the "hanging mob" want to feed you to the sharks and take your job and life away. Not worth it.

I spent about $ 2,000 + on a DUI charge in 1999,and the truth I had been drinking three beers. The officer told the officers at the station I had to much mouth, that is why he really locked me up. Going to court over and over missing work to go to court it all adds up,not to mention lawyers price for keeping it in court,It's all BS.but I learn my lesson.

I will turn 73 in July this year. When I think of some of the stuff I did in my younger days I am amazed at what I got away with and how blessed I am to still be alive. I was always a hard drinker but never missed a day of work. When my wife of thirty-six year finally had enough in said Adios I really lost control of my drinking. Sobered up in 2002 thanks to Friends of Bill W. I can't drink anymore but boy do I have some memories...........

One's too many and a hundred aint enough. I could tell booze war stories for the rest of the day and not repeat myself but none are recent because I put the plug in the jug Feb 19, 1998.

...last time I drove with too much to drink was 37 years ago...made a fool of myself in front of my new bride that night...vowed to myself I would never do it again...kept my vow...I have one nice imported beer each evening now...and a shot of 12 year old Scotch when I feel a sore throat coming on...that's it...

Never took it up myself, I think my Christian Science ancestors bred it out of me. Don't feel I missed anything.

My Daddy had a 4 car cab company and a ***** house. I saw first hand what it can do. 70 this year and a 5 gallon can will hold every drop I ever drank.
I did crazy stuff and had nothing to blame it on. But here I am.

Partied hearty in my early twenties until a drunk driver killed a friend of mine, then I slowed down.Married a girl that had a tendency to drink too much and that really sobered me up.I hardly drank at all for 30 years (couldn't keep it in the house)Now that I'm single,I can enjoy a drink or two with dinner without feeling guilty.

It amazes me how people will get smashed on booze then drive. Then tell the story how they don't know how they even got home. I think these people should play Russian roulette with themselves instead of putting other people's lives in their hands.
I guess it takes for them to kill someone before they wise up. Nah that doesn't even stop many from doing it again. I have no respect for people that drive drunk and brag about it. Are they bragging that the cops didn't catch them or that they proved they could drive drunk and not kill someone? It blows my mind that anyone can tell about their drinking and driving like they should get an atta boy for it. Just plain to stupid to have any common sense to keep doing it. No they enjoy telling the story over and over how they have not one cent of care for others lives.
Yeah I was hit by a drunk driver. If he had been 2" farther over he would have done more than sideswipe my car. The DA called me asking my opinion what the drunk driver's punishment should be. The driver was a deaf mute and his insurance company thought oh I should feel sorry for his boozed up stinking self. I told the DA take his license away for good or at least make it that his vehicles had disabling devices on them because in my mind there was not much of any doubt he will drink and drive again. The drunk sideswiped me and totaled the F150 behind me. The drunk kept right on going trying to get away. His left A frame was busted completely off his truck which eventually caused him to have to stop. The drunk was going the wrong way on a freeway because he got on trying to escape a cop busting him. The man, woman and child behind me were lucky they came out with only a scratch on the baby's ankle. I ended up taking them home since their truck was totaled.
Screw drunk drivers, they have nothing but self ignorance to brag or laugh about.

Friend of Bill W and Jimmy K since the week of January 10, 2005. I pretty much remember my first drink and my first drug but, ironically, I can't remember my last of either. Says a lot, doesn't it?
