Recreational marijuana in the NFL???
Heard on the radio today that Goodell is considering allowing it in the future.
I don't see any obvious dangers in doing so but I can envision several hilarious scenarios involving mellowed out 300lb linemen. The game might even be able to be played without pads or helmets because no one will feel like exerting that much energy.
It seems to me that a better idea would be to pipe marijuana smoke in the crowds at hockey games or soccer matches where most of the violence actually occurs.
Just my opinion but.....Hey!! Who took my bag of Doritos??

A player caught smoking marijuana would raise less of an eyebrow in the news than a player involved in a shooting or other domestic problems.
I'm not for or against players using marijuana...Just playing the devil's advocate.

Seemed to work OK for the football team in the M A S H movie.

I am shocked...shocked!....to learn that there is recreational marijuana use in the NFL establishment.
Round up the usual suspects.

Weed is a very good pain killer. I can see them using it in the NFL. There might be a few blown plays because someone didn't move when the ball was snapped. Could be interesting to see what happens.

I doubt many pro athletes would indulge before competing, any more than drink alcohol before competing. On the field, they need to be at their physical best.
But, given all the chronic aches and pains those guys carry off the field, I think the option to smoke marijuana for pain relief rather than take pain killers, especially opioids, would make a lot of sense.
I realize it is controversial to say so, but I think it would keep some good men from getting hooked, frankly.
Further, at least in some forms, marijuana provides pain relief without getting you high: Cannabis topicals offer alternative to opioids for pain treatmen - KPTV - FOX 12

No NFL player is tested for opioid's. That's because the doctors that work for the teams use them on players all the time to kill pain.
So, what's the difference between them and pot? Doctors don't prescribe them!
