Default My new ride.

Long story with this'n. But just to hit the high points lemme just say that it is my bucket list car. It's probably gonna be my LAST new car so I talked myself into pulling out all the stops. It's the first time in my live I actually got the exact car I wanted with ALL the bells and whistles. First time I drove away in a new car with an evil grin on my face instead of a wish and a sigh that I wanted something a little better.

It's a 2017 GMC Terrain Denali. It has every thing that science and automotive engineering can figure out how to put on a car. Including ON-STAR and they even put an ap on my phone that lets me lock, unlock and even START it from inside the house.

I am hoping that in a couple of months I'll be able to get that stupid grin off my face. Im a happy camper don'tcha KNOW.

I recently bought a new GMC Yukon (same color) and it too is loaded with fun stuff and safety features. Good luck with it and enjoy!

Mine too. The plain white in that size vehicle always looks like a washing machine to me - LOL! You will LOVE the Lane Keep and Blind Spot features. The Hill Assist works great too. Oh, even the self dimming Hi Beams and Auto windshield wiper sensors work great. About the only thing I find useless is the TV/CD/Movie player. While I always thought of an auto opening and closing rear hatch as a "wussy feature" I've come to really like it. The accident avoidance braking has bailed me out nicely when I was cut off and the back up camera is a welcome feature.

Jack, that's gorgeous! Congratulations on your purchase. I'm guessing it's another birthday present...perhaps one to yourself? Man, you can cruise all day in that...anywhere you want to go.

How about some more photos?

Feels good to get what you want, doesn't it?!?

Now with a ride like that, you might have to think about a new screen name..Maybe "Used to be Walkin' Jack"!! Seriously a nice ride.

That's a Cadillac. Just looks a little different from outside. Inside it has the same stuff. Take a nice long trip now and you will understand why people buy those things. You won't be sorry.

I bought new top of the line in 07 before I retired. Couldn't afford it now and I wouldn't buy it even if I could. 60K seems like way too much money to spend on a vehicle these days.

Wouldn't make my top ten but whatever scratches your itch...

If I need something to tell me I'm drifting into another lane I'm either too tired to drive or had one too many drinks...Both of which are bad!!

I don't need any crash avoidance that only works below 25mph...Give me one that saves my butt going 70+mph and I'll consider it.

A vehicle that can survive a crash like a tank is all well and good but shouldn't I have some consideration for the people who I share the road with? Sometimes I think that all these new vehicle features enable people to stay on the road longer than they should be allowed to drive.

I know you all want to flood me with likes but it really isn't necessary.

You mean it doesn't have a voice telling you your blinker is still on? You should have gotten that feature added on. Oh I forgot you said the voice sometimes is in the car with you.

Sounds like your Gimmy is a spoiler for sure. No doubt you will enjoy it.

Congrats and very nice. Love the color. On my bucket list is either a new truck in white and a new motorcycle in white.

About the not hearing the blinker sound. I will be driving down the road and the passenger will ask " can't you hear the blinker is still on".
I say yeah I knew it was on, I'm lying, I say I leave it on to mess with people behind me so they will not tail gate me. Their thinking I am about to turn. LOL
I think my t/s warning needs to be a loud gong sound.

You are a man of true vision! That road trip will happen exactly one week from today. Going up to the inlaws in North Central Texas just a spit away from the Oklahoma line on I-35. That's about a 6 hour trip the way we do it. It'd be a 5 hour trip if we didn't have to go through Dallas.

But then I might be tempted to take a little detour along the way...you know...a little back-road scenery.
