Doc Watson
For the younger forum members who aren't familiar with Doc Watson's music,
here's Doc and Merle playing a classic. A musical treat:

He was a master storyteller. I had the privilege of talking to him and Merle on three occasions. I even got to sit in on a set with them at the Union Grove fiddlers convention.
I'm a huge fan.

A great talent!
Not being in the younger group, everyday I have to cry some,
I remember him very well.
I especially like this one-

Merle was great, and his death nearly killed Doc. But Doc was the master. Here's a fine sample, billed as being from his final performance.

To have heard his work is to miss him. Or should be.

I have quite a bit of his music. I like the good Doc Watson. Somebody mentioned Deep River Blues, that was written by some Alabama boys, the Delmore Brothers, Alton and Rabun, from up around the Shoals.
Doc could do it all, even though he was blind.
Thanks for posting.

What instrument did you play when you sat in at Union Grove?
