Default Road Trip....

Off on the first of what I hope will be many road trips in the new car. Got her gassed up and washed up for the trip. We are off to Texoma land in the morning. About 30 minutes south of the Oklahoma state line on I-35. Be back Monday or Tuesday.

Y'all play nice and I'll see y'as on the flip-flop.

Made it back in one piece. Put about 1,000 miles on the new wheels and got 29 mpg. I have never had any vehicle that got much more than 21 on the highway. And the tank holds 21 gallons so this means I can drive all the way up there or all the way back and not have to stop for gas. Still have nearly 1/4 tank after going door to door.

This truly is a dream car. I experienced no sense of speed. 80 doesn't seem like any faster than 50. No road noise and it smooths out the bumps very nicely.Handle like a dream.

I have my phone set up in the cars system and gotten familiar with a lot of the many doodads and geegaws. Still a ways to go but I'm a gittin' there.

Mine makes 6 white GMCs in the family. As it turns out My niece bought pretty much the same car one day before I bought mine. Oh yeah...It's white. Arctic White Pearl to be precise.

Welp, I'm off to the car wash. Hasta manana

I find it ironic that Walkin' Jack started a thread about a road trip driving a car. Hope it was a grand tour.

I wonder, would it be dorky got get me some racing gloves a crash helmet and a leather jumpsuit? Yeah, that's pro'lly be a little over the top...

But seriously I am thinking of putting a cargo net in the rumble and a bug deflector on the hood. It already has everything else. I was just funnin earlier about the fuzzy dice, curb feelers and fender skirts...

Slow your roll there, Jack! Driving gloves may be out of place, as you now look like every other soccer mom in my neighborhood!

Seriously though, those are laid out. Congrats on your new ride!

Got a new car in Feb, a Nissan Murano. Driving back to Utah from Las Vegas, brand new, got 32 MPG. Planning a long road trip cross country in Sep probably doing around 4 to 5K miles total. Since I'm retired, I can take all the time I need and not really have concrete plans to be anywhere at any time. So stops are optional. I have plans to stay in an Airbnb in a couple spots and visit relatives as long as I can stand them. A trip around the Fingerlakes for wine tasting is also planned. How much wine I bring back is yet to be determined but probably quite a bit. A stay in the Buffalo, NY area will include wings, pizza and, for those of you who may know about it, a couple stops at Teds hot dog stands. All in all should be a good time.

Don't know about changing your "name"; but you already have more than a few references to you, while on your road trips.

I know you have heard the ole: "see ya on down the road JACK !"
