My cloak of invisibility from the elves of Middle Earth is pretty threadbare, too.

I reckon the NRA knows best how to market products to their members. Rumor has it that the new NRA logo will include the Punisher.

If it's not camo it's not tactical they call it tactical so they can charge twice what it's worth.

The tacti-cool craze will not stop until (they-we-us-whoever) stop paying extra for anything with that word in the description.
As much as the "tactical" label annoys me....I do love me some capitalism.

Wasn't it the late Charles Schultz, also known as Sparky, who invented the "Tactical Blanket"

Not sure they do Phil....this from their ad.....
"It’s the most versatile survival blanket available! With an impermeable outer shell bonded to insulating fleece, the NRA Tactical Waterproof Blanket defies water, wind and cold. Six rustproof metal grommets allow it to be used as a tent or lean-to. Or, use it as a dry bag, a vessel for water collection, a mat for prone shooting – or anything else you can think of! Sized to fit a full-sized bed, it rolls compactly into its own carry harness for easy transport (or a quick bug-out). Dimensions: 58”L x 80”H. Colors: Black, Brown. Imported.
Gesshhhhhh.....I do wonder how wide this thing is...5 feet long and 6 & 1/2 feet high....wow.....must be heavy.......

They also say :
"or a quick bug-out"
Guess with all your other bug out stuff you need a large TRUCK!
Dont think it will fit in the TACTICAL BUG OUT BAG!
BUT wait, there is more, lots MORE!!

Looks like to me the perfect pitch to NRA members (gun owners). As far as how the product actually performs that's another matter. That said, the reviewers love it. One guy was so pleased he purchased a second one! Very tactical...
NRA members (gun owners) love the word tactical. It's like catnip. And there's a lot of preppers among gun owners. That the NRA is selling a "tactical" "survival" "bug-out" blanket to their members instead of "camping" "outdoor" "emergency" blanket is no accident. Sales and marketing teams know who they're reaching.
Years ago me and a few other guys were drinking ice cold adult beverages at a job site solving the world's problems as we often did. One guy says... "I can't understand why they keep putting those dumb ads in the back of magazines". I responded... Because they work. He asks- " How the heck do you know that?". I said... Because they keep putting those dumb ads in the magazines.

I had an officer refer to a tactical blanket in a preliminary hearing I had the other day on a murder case. Defendant was holed up in an apartment and the officers surrounded the area. At the door, the officer testified he and another individual held up a tactical blanket to provide protection. I asked about it and it was apparently something new akin to a ballistic shield.
