Default Pet Peeve!!!

My wife works at WM so I am up there fairly often. It really burns me up to see some young some not so young able bodied individuals literally run to get the electric shopping/carts. At times 2 or 3 getting one each as if they are in an amusement part on the bumper cars. When I told my wife about she said that they are not allowed to say anything to these little darlings. How inconsiderate can you be? These scooters/carts are for people with physical handicaps people! You see them zoom off, big toothy smiles on their faces while their mothers or grandmothers stand idly by But I guess they deserve it.

Public displays of responsible parenting is getting to be a rare commodity these days. It's a sign of the times.

Then one of the little idiots runs into a shelf, topples stuff over on himself, gets an owie, sues the store and collects big time. America!

I saw where some guy who had been tormenting the neighbors dog, shooting it with pellets etc, finally got caught by the dog and chewed on. Got a decent settlement to. I swear if I could find the dogs address I would send it a couple pounds of steak.

My kids thought riding the "Penny Pony" at Meijer's was a big treat!

My kids never rode the electric scooters at any store, because their mother was with them and said "NO!" No, a small word, seldom used in America today, except when asking children to act like humans!

Reminds me of the other day at breakfast. At a booth across the way, the guy was telling me how he goes to one of the local malls and walks 2 miles every day. Same guy has a handicap plate on his car and park in a handicap spot every day. No, the plate isn't for a wife as he isn't married.

Yes very sad. Bolth myself and wife need those carts at times. We don't always use them. Myself I would rather use a regular cart. My Doctor last week told me to stay off feet. Ugg very , very hard. Had to go to Wal-Mart this last weekend.Out of need . We couldn't find a scooter. But while inside alot where used for toys.

ACORN,all you had to do is type "Walmart" as your title and everyone would understand.

Walmart was recently cited in a survey as one of the worst markets in the country.

I don't look at it as a Walmart issue. I just happen to be there often so I see it more. I suppose if I went to the grocery store that often it'd be the same. It's the mind set of these idiots that joy ride and tie up a resource that many people need. I know people like to pile on WM but in this instance it has nothing to do with the narcissism in some folks.

I haven't seen much of that around here, but then, I don't go to WM either but once in a blue moon. A related peeve (grocery store) is the self-important jackasses that unload 25-35 items in the 15 items or less register line. Oddly, they also usually have a trunk sized purse, dig around in it for 11,000 coupons, then dig around in it again for a change purse, then dig around in that to count out 27 pennies, then ask for 18 separate bags for their 25 items.
I said something to one once and glared at her in front of a bunch of people checking out, and she had the gall to ask "I suppose you've counted my groceries?!!" to which I replied "Yes, and you have way more than 15. See the sign? Or can't you read?" She sniffed and stomped over to another line. I hoped she wasn't carrying anything but a grudge.

My wife has a degenerative bone disease in both feet. She has to wear a knee high hard plastic CRO boot and uses a cane. Never, and I mean never, are there any charged power carts available at the local Walmart or Martin's Grocery. At Wally World, half the carts are out of order and the other half are being joy ridden by the rotten little hyena offspring the OP mentioned. Martins, a big store, only has three power carts. Usually two are in use and one is dead.

Being a responsible adult is a lot harder than being a lazy good for nothing @#$%&*&^%$##.

It takes effort to teach, learn, set an example etc.

Some kids are brats because they were allowed to be and now its their lifestyle. What is in the heart will be revealed in lifestyle.

What Meijer were you at that the pony was not 'out of order'. They are always broken.

Same problem with the Naugers, if they do not eat enough their hyde gets very thin, which is probably why they no longer harvest them for car seat upholstery.

Jeez. Why doesn't corporate policy allow employees to tell able bodied people, kids or adults, to get the hell off the carts.

That sort of policy is going to keep potential cutomers out of their stores.

I manage a small privately owned business with a storefront. We try to be politically correct but only to a point. We don't have to nor are we required to put up with such nonsense. And we don't.

Decent respectful customers appreciate it. And it helps that local law enforcement are frequent customers.

I suspect the store policy on in-store electric shopping carts has something to do with ADA. You can't question anyone about his/her disability under pain of a lawsuit. If you say you are disabled, then you are.

OMG! Not enough room here but I could tell you a story about how a co worker and I had our "secretary" going on with BS about Naugahers" Her husband was a Upholstering and had her believing in the Great Canadian Naugah Migration and shortage of hides do to over hunting,

They might have to start requiring the actual handicapped to show proof of disability before unlocking the bumper-car corral. But that would mean hiring an employee and training one several times a year (job turnover), so never mind.

Those things move so slow, I don't see the fun in them. Otherwise I'd kinda want to do it myself. Not that I would.
