CUTTING THE CABLE???
"Those" steaming boxes giving you every channel/sports event RIGHT/WRONG???? While I have no love for the big cable companies & feel they may have partially brought this on themselves. My too good to be true meter is off the charts & I have a deep feeling it is basically stealing. How does it affect actors residuals, etc. ??? I know I hate shelling out "big $" for not being able to get the sports games I want & repeats of old junk over and over. Don't have one YET. Those that do have them are raving about them.

Not sure what streaming boxes you‘re referring to, but the typical roku or fire tv would not have sports. If you want sports you’re going to need to shell out for 1 or more subscriptions. Sports is where the cable companies get you.

I raised 4 kids and never had cable. My four kids; 2 are too busy and don't have kids , 2 have kids and have cable. I fear for their future.
When I was in the hospital for 21 days I had the cable on 24/7 to the History channel. Pawn stars was on at least 6 hours a day, Yuck! I grew up in the antique and art business and I know a few things about guns, Their experts gag me! I can look on the net and learn facts and draw my own conclusions!
Watching Pawn Stars is like People watching outside a Wal-Mart, there will be something to take your breath away, and something that makes you bust out laughing!
We had a logging company in the mid 70's, watching the Axmen and others was best done without sound, but the machines were a dream (usually).
I've never tried for gold, and they have convinced me not to try. I know two different guys that made a decent living mining gold but not like that!
The closest "Reality TV" comes to reality is Survivor and Big Brother. Not the games and nonsense! But 40+ years in the apartment business, We learned that roommates, even roommates with benefits will stab each other in the back give a fair chance!
Maybe I need the Sudoku channel!

What's too good to be true?
The whole post is confusing!
If you're asking should you cut cable? Sure go for it! It's your choice!!
I have cable and don't find anything to complain about.....at least not the typical complaints. Don't like the show? Change the channel! No one is forcing you to watch that

"Those" being illegal hacked cable boxes? Yes, it's stealing, theft of services. People may try to justify their stealing, but they are thieves any way you look at it.

I got rid of my Direct tv and now use a Ruku stick. Get to see everything I want to see plus for less the cost. Now the cable companies and the satellite folks are trying to get into the streaming business as well.
I do get all the sports I need to see, my only problem is that sometimes you can't get a live telecast on the big broadcast stations.
Other than that I'm pleased!

We never had cable here. We had dish until about 5 years ago. Now all we have is internet. We stream movies and some other stuff. My wife watches a few British productions also. I don't watch sports. Maybe I should see a shrink because I understand that isn't normal.
Seems I can always find something else to do for entertainment. I attribute that to growing up on a farm. We had a TV but there never was any time to watch it.

Then it all went downhill.

Have not watched TV for over 30 years and definitely do not miss any sports programs as my two, if they were ever shown, would be rugby union and the biathlon. So maybe I should see a shrink as well!! Dave_n
