Some good news, I have her mailing address from when I sent her the 'kitty crate' when she took the cats to the vet. I did not find her obituary in Tucumcari, NM.

Do you feel comfortable dropping her a postcard saying we miss her and we're asking about her? I have her first and last name that she gave me along with her email, but I don't think that even in a small town I could just put down her name and tucumcari,nm and expect she'll get it. Or as an alternative, do you feel ok about emailing her address to me and I'll send her a quick note? My email is [email protected].. I'll understand if you say no, but I would love to stay in touch with her. (If you do write her, please give her my email and she knows me by my "handle" here better than my real name) While she was active on the forum, I'd talk with her several times a week. Thanks, Linda ps thanks for the good news about there being no obituary. Not sure that if she was no longer with us that she even any had family that would post one. And she lived in a very isolated spot in a very small town. Thanks..

Hope she is OK. We are all family on here and I am hoping and praying for the best and it's just a busy time for her.

Likewise. I was just thinking about this thread and wondering if anyone had heard from her (Presumably not or I'm sure it would be posted here, but...)

This little bum showed up as a kitten inside the frame of my van through one of the holes in it. My neighbor, whose arm is smaller than mine, had to extract her. We fed her and took her to the vet and as you can see, the rest is history. It didn't take long for her to train us.

About a month ago it was 4° F, and this little guy showed up. I’ve been feeding him ever since. Made him a warm secure place to sleep until I can get him checked out to let in with my Lucky and Bella. Seems his name is “Bubby”.
Best Regards, Les

This is getting serious. We may need to find someone in the area (?!?!) to drive through Tucumcari with a big banner on their vehicle with the S&W emblem on it that reads, "SUSIEQZ, WHERE ARE YOU?"
According to the "six degrees of separation" theory, someone must know someone who knows someone (else) in Tucumcari. It's small enough that she must be known to a few people there, even though she apparently lives well out of town.
(I'm worried about her cats, too )

Me too. I live in the northeast so I'm real far. Her town is near the Texas border... Maybe someone closer to that border could check on her. I know that even her vet was pretty far away. Her town is a small town I think. She seemed to enjoy this group and answered fairly quickly, so I don't think she got tired of responding. I had a friend on another forum here who was booted off for a minor"offense" that he was unaware of until he was"banished". Maybe that's what happened, but, then I would think she would have responded to my friendly card that I sent. I included my phone#and my email, so that if she was"banished" she would have had alternative ways of contacting me. Any ideas, anyone?

"Desperate times call for desperate measures" How many veterinarians can there be in Tucumcari? (Surely she doesn't have to drive to Albequerque or Amarillo?) One of them must know her, and it seems a few folks here know her last name.... "Hi doc. Asking for a friend..."

She was kind of averse to going to the vet at all even though there were times that I advised her to in order to get shots for her kitties. She did get the shots eventually but said the vet was quite far away and she tried to combine the visit with shopping that was also very far away. She wasn't a worrier about the kitties health generally and she would find natural remedies for anything that came up. I wouldn't think that under these circumstances that the vet would have known her very well. Tucumcari is a small town(under 5000 people) and I don't think the vet there would have been described as very far away like she told me. I wouldn't know what direction from her town that she'd head to for a vet in another town. I don't know the geography at all there. I'm going to see if I can go back and read old posts of hers too see if there are any hints as to what towns she might have gone to for veterinary care. I'll let you guys know if I come up with anything

That's a good idea. Are any of our friends on this thread a LEO, or has a friend who's an LEO in New Mexico who could help us find out if Susieqz is ok? I have her actual name and you could pm me to get it(or email me at [email protected]) which would be better because my pm is full and I'm having problems deleting some messages to make room

Yes, I vaguely remember that. And since I'm not at all familiar with the area either, I had to look it up on a map and concluded that Albequerque or Amarillo would be the closest major centres.
She started this thread on July 24, 2017, nearly 4 years ago, so you'll have a lot of searching to do for clues.
Steelslaver's idea of using the LEO network will be the way to go as there will hopefully be some official resources even for a casual enquiry about a potential "missing person" (One of ours!)
Surely there is more to this than "Is it something we said?"

I don't think it was something we said(lol). I'd be grateful if that was all it turned out to be, and that she's ok. I did get in touch with one member who's a retired LEO and they will see what they can do. I'm still hoping for the best Thanks for caring!

No news is not good news!
I have contacted the Tucumcari, NM police department and the Quay County Sheriff's department . Did not speak to an officer, but left 2 voice mails with information.
EDIT: 4/05/21 @ 4:11PM EDT the Quay Cty Sheriff's Department called me back. An officer will make a "Wellness Check" on Susieq and someone will contact me on my cell phone within the next 24 hours. The Department knows my legal name and Engineer1911 so Susieq will know who requested the check. They also know that several S&W Forum members were concerned, and we have not heard from Susieq for 4 months.
EDIT #2 4/05/21 @ 5:03 PM EDT the Quay Cty Sheriff's Department Dispatcher called me back. The officers found no one at the house address I gave them. The house is abandoned (not just vacant) and in disrepair. The last known owner was a single male. There are no other houses within 2 miles of either direction of the address. The lady (dispatcher) was emotionally upset that she could not provide more information "about my friend". She also thanked "Us" for caring about Susieq.
Folks, I tried.

Check mark the messages you wish to delete, then go down to the bottom of the message list and click on where it says move to folder and a list will come up. select delete from list then click the go button. You can also clean out sent messages. At top where it says inbox in grey click on it an then select sent items. Select ones you wish to delete, then go to bottom click on move to folder, select delete, then go. Your done.
Do wonder about address being correct. I don't like this

Did you/we get a reply that she got the crate? That might at least validate the address at that time.
If she lived well off a numbered route in the area, I guess Google Street view won't help to see what's there.

We don't know if she owned the property where she lived, do we? Or how long she lived in that area.
She was very upset with people that wouldn't wear masks.
She gave very little personal information about herself, the one post I stuck in my mind was she mentioned being a lawyer and working with LE in Ontario, Canada.
This a really "off the wall" thought but do you suppose she was in a witness protection program and had to be moved? I don't know if the local LE would be aware of that or if they would give out the information if they were aware.

VERY weird! I was cruising the Tucumari area on Google and there is a "Canadian River" just north of Tucumari (!)
re "Off the wall", If she were in witness protection, I doubt that LE would be too forthcoming with information. And she might have changed her name. The response to Engineer1911 was a bit abrupt.... It's easy to start reading things into situations like this but you never know...

Thank you so much for trying @Engineer1911. Les.B contacted me and I imagine he'll see here what you were able to find out. Susieqz did have some conversations with some forum members about wanting to leave NM because she hated the heat and wanting to seek out a new place in Wyoming. I'm hoping that she sold her home in NM to this single male that you found out about and is in Wyoming. We may never know. I'm still unsettled because I would have thought if she was leaving NM she would have said goodbye even if she didn't want to keep up a relationship with the forum. But then there wouldn't have been a reason for a thread called"My garden is protected"

She mentioned in one previous post that she had something (not the crate) in her mailbox but that it was 3 miles down the road and she didn't want her car getting stuck in the mud at that point. So I think she was pretty isolated. She mentioned that she had guns in her house and that she was very good at picking off the bunnies that ate her figs. She seemed to be a person that was able and willing to defend herself if she needed to.

That's an interesting thought @pawngal ... Maybe that is a possibility, and if that's the reality, I guess we will never know. But if it is, she's probably still be alive and that would be wonderful. Wherever she is, I wish her well. If you feel like looking thru her previous posts you will see her talking to another forum member or two who live in Wyoming about wanting to move there to escape the heat in NM. See what you think. I might contact the members from wyoming if I can find the posts and see if they know anything and if they may have helped her relocate.

Yes I'm sure, but I don't think you can grow figs as successfully in Wyoming as in NM. They need warmth. But I would hope that if she was well, and not needing to be anonymous somewhere, she'd have said 'bye. But I'm encouraged by the fact that she was a good shooter and likely to have been able to defend herself if necessary.

Something just struck me as odd. The dispatcher's reply to Engineer1911 was:
The officers found no one at the house address I gave them. The house is abandoned (not just vacant) and in disrepair. The last known owner was a single male. Her last post was July 14/20. I don't know the weather patterns in the area but it seems odd that a house could be "in disrepair" in 9 months. And the last known owner was a single male, so she presumably would have been renting.
