Cancelled Lakeland Gunshow Fantasy Report
Another sparsely attended event, the pumps are making headway draining the parking lot. $15 admit stung a bit but not as much as the $8 hotdog and coke. Lots of S&W revolvers all over the place with prices from $100 over new retail up to "are you ******* me?" I did find a bayonet for my 1871 Beaumont Vitali that I've been searching for the last 30 years. He knew I wanted it so I paid the $4,000 for it. Except for the dried blood, rust, lack of sheath or frog, it was a steal. Even though Dick (Dimonback 68+) was nowhere in sight, I could hear him say "If you ain't buying it I am" as I paid $1395 for the nicest Model 10-5 I've ever seen. Got that old "table buzzard" to come down $5 off his asking price, I am such an ace at Hunkering and dickering. I'm ready for nap time, 150 mile drive was well worth it. Looking forward to January. That's EXACTLY what he told me lo those many years ago about a 5" Nickle pristine Model 27 that sent me the slipperiest slope ride I've ever been on..!!

You made me feel a little better about the price I paid.
Bought this beat-up m10-5 shooter this week.
Are these some cheap knockoff grips?
Looks like lanyard holes threaded in the bottom.
If I could afford a pristine pistol it'd look like a
beater shortly.

That probably had one of those decorative plates on the bottom of the grips.. Some called them skull busters.

Also called "dome crunchers" in certain parts of Nova Scotia and Madagascar.

$4,000. for a bayonet, $1400. for a S&W Model 10, $15.00 for a parking space, and $8.00 for a hotdog plus wading though a flooded parking lot, after driving 150 miles in hurricane weather !!

Me and Frank don't go to gun shows anymore:
We have too much stuff.
We have guns we haven't shot in 3 years, why buy another gun?
We have more powder, primers, bullets than brass, why buy more?
Admission, parking and show prices are all too high.
Range day! We're going shooting, skip the gun show!
