BTW: Why would you think Caltrans should be picking it up from your chicken pen?

Obviously, you've never heard the joke..."Someone invented a shovel that can stand by itself, putting hundreds of CALTRANs workers out of a job." It's a California thing...

Can't help you there, I've eaten a lot of crow so to speak and tempted to try spotted owl, but never a buzzard. Now I did have a friend years ago that would eat anything that didn't eat him first. His favorite line at meal time was "you gonna finish that?". He died fairly young.

Mmmmmm...fajitas.
I have also had buzzards almost beat me to a turkey I just shot. I won. After all, I still had two shells in my Mossberg.

Reports of Buzzy's death greatly exagerrated...
Local wildlife preserve took him in two weeks ago, he made a quick recovery and is back in the sky, released!

Yes they will eat cats (gross)
I always referred to them buzzards as vultures.

Dig a hole right next to it after it croaks. Kick it into the hole and cover it up. AKA, bury it.
I'm a genius!!!

I have never seen a buzzard eat another dead buzzard. Course I didn't go searching a whole lot...but have seen many dead buzzards. I was told by a state biologist that they do indeed contract many diseases..His statement anyway.

Saw an eagle pecking at some roadkill the other day. Wouldn't even move for approaching cars.
