Favorite GAME/GUN Pictures 2017-18
Another forum I read has a thread like this every year. Always a highlight to follow for me. Let's start one here, post your hunting successes here for this season. I haven't been hunting yet this season but below is my all time favorite (so far ) from 2015.
Link to thread- BBQ gun gets BBQ!
S&W 1950 Target, 4" Bbl, 240gr LSWC, 8 pt. Buck at 35yds

Fine pics and a GREAT week! I've driven through Moscow before on my way from Quebec City to Portland. Beautiful area! Any of those taken with a S&W? Can you handgun hunt in Maine?

Bird hunting over good dogs +++++1! With a kid, even better. Makes me miss my sibling Brittany's even more, if that's possible. I know the dog you have NOW is the best ever, but they were special, & always will be I guess.

It's early in the season. Only thing open here is Dove, I don't have a place to hunt them.
Here is link to other forum I mentioned if anyone is interested. SXS shotguns, birds, and dogs mainly.

I miss the old "politically incorrect" days when you could take a .22 rifle to the local dump and help take care of the rat problem. Not big game by anyone's imagination, but a fun and inexpensive way to while away a summer's afternoon.
Ditrina - that's whole lot of shoes or boots sitting there!

Dove season is the only thing open now, with bow season for deer starting next month. November is when gun season for deer starts down here in my area.

My son got this little 4 point opening day of our youth season two weeks ago with a Ruger 7mm-08. He is after a big set of horns now.

Can I sneak some archery pictures in?
This is the first deer I took with my new bow, taken the second morning of archery season, 9/28/17.

6518John- That is a nice one! Congrats to you and your son. Good luck on the hunting, great times together.
Hilbilly77- Of course you can, looks like game to me! I've never gotten into bow hunting but pistol hunting is very similar and I do enjoy that. Looks like your bow is spot on.

Other than some squirrels this fall and a few doves, this Tom was the only thing I've pulled the trigger on in April 2017. My old SCHP cruiser Rem 870 shotgun repurposed.
All time favorite was this Bobcat with Rem 700 in .270 from two years ago.

The cold snap certainly had the deer moving. (Jan 2) This nice 11pt 192lbs was the best one I have taken in a while. 170yds with .260 Ackley Improved, 140gr Sierra GameKing. Still hoping to take one with my S&W M69 (carried it with me) but this one was a little far, lol. Starting 2018 off right!
Add your hunting pics from this season!

Well, I was ready. Last chance this season for me. Rifle, binocs, M69, earplugs, comfortable in stand overlooking foodplot, nice weather. Everything except the deer during daylight. Had 5 come out- too dark, too late, too small to shoot. Oh well, bird season is next.
No more posts/pics? Why aren't you guys and gals out hunting?

Caribou trip late 2017 - "Old Suddenly" keeps putting meat on the table...M70 my dad gave to my mom as a wedding gift in the 50s...that stick has been around the world a few times and has seen a lot, but still keeps on doing it.

+1.
Makes me miss my Brit and the family ranch we hunted.
Bird hunting behind a good dog is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Today was first outing of season on home turf. Put out 10 pairs, got 11 shown, plus 3 more as "Rue" pointed a few strays. A fun afternoon afield!

CAST & BLAST! Yesterday was Blast, thanks to Rue, we got 19/24. Today was Cast, 17" trout, nice crappie and bass on ultralights. Both days were guarded by M63 3"
Turkey season opens next month and I plan on hunting with S&W. May try 44spl again. Now if birds will just cooperate!
Hope y'all have some Spring success!!
