Default Have you ever had

Money burning a hole in your pocket, and could not decide what to buy? That is where I was. Did I want a semi auto handgun, or maybe a rifle? So I finally decided on a 4" Model 19 blued, to add to my small group of 3 now 4 Mod 19's. 2 are 6", 1-2 1/2", and now a 4".

The rifle would have taken up a lot more storage space and the pistol would have flung your best brass into mud puddles. Judging by your screen name you like Model 19s so a barrel length that you did not have was a great choice.

The problem I have experience with is the burning desire to buy something I do not need when there is no money burning holes in my pockets.

All the time. But, it generally burns so hot and there is so little of it, it's gone before I make up my mind. Which might be a good thing, as my want list is much larger than my money list

Chief, if your daughter is anything like one on my ex-wives it was generally my dollar, that was earmarked.

Nah, she's pretty good about that. She never asks us for money - just spends her own and she's good at that!

I keep telling her about "a rainy day" but don't think she's gotten it yet!

Just yesterday! That little 4" 34-1 (with box, papers, & tools) refused to let me leave the gun shop without it. It had no regard for my bills or budget! The nerve of some guns!

Ivan

I do love 1911s and feel a burning desire to buy every one I see...then I look in my wallet and decide a Waffle House lunch and a half tank of gas is in my better interest.

The trick is to stay patient. Keep shopping, and looking at what's available. Then, after a while, you realized you have saved more money, and then you can look for a nicer gun. I do this while shopping for a car, or any other major purchase.

Money burning a hole in your pocket seems to be a foreign concept for those of us who are married.

I go in stages. Build up the slush fund cash for a while until it gets high enough to be able to grab a couple that I want and then settle back down again. Every once in a while I will put something on the card but I usually pay it off the next month. I have been debt free long enough to like it and want to stay that way.

The older you get the less your wife needs to know.
