Default Whst was the name of the cloth that was used for cleaning stainless etc.?

Many years ago, there was a cleaning cloth treated with a chemical that would clean gunpowder from nickle & stainless guns. What was the name of this product? Is it still on the market??/

Default Kleenbore Lead Away Gun Cloth

I'm not sure this is what you're talking about but I've used:

Kleenbore Gun Care Lead Away Gun Cloth.

If this is it, they're still for sale.

Lead Free? It's still made. I'm not sure about nickel firearms.

I've heard it suggested you need to be wealthy to own and use the product. It requires a 2nd gun room to keep it and your stainless guns in . Keeping the blue ones in the other. Any inadvertent mixing results in messed up blue guns. If all your blue guns have been refinished and touched up with cold blue, maybe it won't make much difference to you. If all you own are stainless, you might be OK.

Be care full of wonder products. Sometime they are powerful medicine that works miracles when used and intended.

I use a lead-away cloth to wipe down my stainless guns, as well as a bore and charging hole patch on all my guns. It works well, but keep it away from the finish on blued and nickel finished guns. I recently gave several of my revolvers the above treatment when done I threw the patch away, but did not wipe my hands well enough and managed to put a small mark on the cylinder of my nickel M-13.

I remember the cloth , but not the name . I had one . NOT good for anything plated , but would remove powder residue and burn marks from stainless really well . Now that's going to bother me all day until I remember that name ....

The cloth that I am aware of is called Pacific Cloth and is used to polish and store sterling silver flatware.

My wife used to buy it from a national fabric store and has made several storage units for flatware for herself, family and friends. That same cloth is used to make mitts for polishing silver. I have one and it does work very well on stainless steel.

To my knowledge it has no adverse effect on other finishes but, I would urge you to proceed with caution in that regard. I personally do not recall using mine on anything but silver belt buckles and stainless steel pistols and revolvers.
