Default Back in Sunny Florida...

Our CPAP machines came Friday and we started using them that night. Saturday morning we boarded a big silver bird and flew to Ft. Lauderdale. Robyn picked us up and brought us out to the rental they are in while their new house gets built.

Gotta love Florida! The Atlantic is in a great mood today and a great sight first thing in the morning. We will be here until the 24th and I expect we will enjoy every moment of it. We're right on the beach so how bad could it be. We'll be eating high off the hog and livin' large so I'm sure the time will fly by.

I'll be in and out of here to check up on y'all so don't be talkin' bad about me.

Enjoy your stay! Weather should be decent with NE breezes and
the edge has mostly disappeared from the heat, mostly mid - upper 80's.

Good luck with the CPAP !! Made a huge difference for me when I had the sleep tests done and they found out I had Central Sleep Apnea .. The much rarer form of Apnea ..

What Machine did you get ?? I'm due for a new one in the next year and have been looking at the new models out since I got mine 5 years ago ..

I love the ocean and beach .. Enjoy your vacation and hope the weather is nice for you !! .. Try some surf fishing if you can !! can be a lot of fun ..

Our new machines say RESMED on the front. They come with a water reservoir and all hoses and power cable. I believe the masks or "pillows" are included. They are very quiet and small and lightweight. The come with a very high quality carrying case with compartmentalized space for every component. the case is about the same general size as a typical lunch pail. there is plenty of room for all the components with plenty of padded partitions separating everything.

This is our first time with CPAP so we have no point of reference but so far so good....very good.

BTW I have been fishiing in the surf for 67 years. I used to tent camp on the beach for days, sometimes weeks at a time. I've always considered the surf my spiritual mother, I believe that it is as close to Heaven as you can get without being dead.

I've thought of the surf as being like a lover, with the power to make your dreams come true or take your life. And every time I would go into the waves I never knew which way it was going to turn out. Sometimes when I'd get out with a nice stringer of fish I'd think, "Well you might get me some day but it won't be today you *****.

But you are right, It can be lots of fun!

Resmed is the brand I have also .. I believe it has the best models .. least that is what my Doctor insisted I get and not go with another brand .. .. there are many models .. even one to help people breath with COPD or hooked up to O2 ..

New models like you have came out less then a year after I got mine .. in fact new ones came on the market 4 months after I had my third sleep test because they could not believe the readings and thought their machine was broken .. I was stopping my breathing up to 24 minutes an hour .. Feeling so much better using it and you will to ..

If you have trouble get your dr to order the settings to be reduced to a lower pressure .. took 2 pressure adjustments to get mine right .. last 2 nights had zero episodes with no time not breathing .. usually my readings are below 1 ..

Wow .. did a lot of surf fishing along the E. Coast and the gulf when I lived in Belmar, NJ and near Weeki Wachie, fl .. love the sea as you do .. quite the mysterious lady isn't she !!

For sure...Mysterious, exotic, and absolutely unpredictable. The closest I ever came to drowning was on a day when the water was gin clear and flat as a table top.

A group of Spanish mackerel were frenzy feeding on a school of bait fish that came up around my popping cork and the razor sharp teeth on one of them cut my line behind the cork. It was my last one and I thought to walk out and get it.

Wrong!!

I stepped in a hole and wound up swallowing a lot of sea water. I made it back to the beach but just barely. I stopped on the way home and bought me a good personal floatation Devlce (PFD).
Since then I don't get in the water without it.
