On this day
35 years ago, I said "I do" and hit the love lottery.
We are more in love now than at any time in the past. As I've said before; we still hold hands. We play footsies at restaurants. I watch her walk across a room and my heart flutters (it does anyway but I choose to believe It's her). I catch myself watching her sleep.
She is tender and cries easily. She is strong enough to bend but not break. She is a wonderful listener and I can make her laugh with only a look. My kids and grandkids could not ask for a better mom/nana.
When Foreigner said: "I wanna know what love is" all they had to do was ask me.

Iggy, she is indeed my best friend. She cannot drink as she has a deformed horseshoe kidney but there are few people more fun to sit next to at a bar than she.

Congratulations! Those of us, as you say "Hit the Love Lottery", It isn't so much of falling more in love each day; It's more like everyday becoming the same person. Knowing without asking, and doing without asking. Those things you mentioned, watching, listening, staring, or just absorbing; that is the being a couple. My wife had a number of great aunts and uncles, that lived in that state for over 50 years. Watching them "Do Life" together for years was amazing! They knew everything in the universe about each other, yet every day was a big bright surprise together!
For you and Ruthie, may you long continue to walk in that big bright surprise!

Congratulations on your Anniversary. It's truly a blessing for a person to spend their existence with someone they truly love and cherish.
People ask if it was love at first sight when I met the woman who was to become my wife. I tell them it was more like relief. "'Bout time you showed up." I just knew she was the one I was meant to spend the rest of my life with.
My hair usta be thick and long. I could tuck into the back of my trousers. Now it's gettin' kinda thin and goes just past my shoulders.
I miss my hair.
