Default Happy 150th Anniversary To Alaska

Alaska was formally transferred to the United States on October 18, 1867.

Unfortunately, for William Seward after a long and important career of civil service, the $7.2 million purchase of Alaska he accomplished was unfairly labeled "Seward's Folly".
