Default 9/11 FLIGHT 93

On 9/11/01 United Flight 93 was heading to Washington D.C.
3 planes had already crashed into the twin towers and pentagon.

Lt. Heather Penney and her CO Col. Mark Sasserville took off in
their F-16s with orders to bring Flight 93 down.

They had no missiles or ammo on their F-16s, so they planned
to ram Flight 93. In effect theirs was a "kamikaze mission".

Although they were ready, able, and willing, they didn't need
to ram Flight 93. As we know, it went down in a field in
Pennsylvania, when brave Americans fought back with the
terrorists.

I am proud to stand when I hear the national anthem, and I
thank God for all of our brave Americans.

Happy Veterans Day!

Happy Veterans Day!
I visited the crash site of Flight 93 last month. What a moving experience. It is a must see. And yes, happy Veterans's Day and happy birthday Marine Corps.

Yes it is quite moving. It is a peaceful place dedicated to the aftermath of a violent pot foiled by average Americans at the cost of their own lives. The memorial is fitting tribute.

I hadn't known that about the F-16 pilots. It 's a pity that we had no armed fighters ready to respond.
