Thank you my good friend. In case y'all aren't familiar with any of these ive tried posting for months.--these are images ive paid a bucket-load of money for to get digitally remastered. The first one is from an original still from A Bridge Too Far--with some stuff edited out of it-like the frightened woman. This is where Sean Connery-the British Red Devil Para General--shoots the German soldier through the window when he accidentally sees whos inside-and dies when he decides to snoop a bit more.

The 2nd image-digitally restored. Original press photo of Disney's Davy Crockett with Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen. This one is about 1/3rd the size of a movie still as these were meant to be trashed after printing by newspapers they were sent to. Anyway, the image was grossly ruined with white printers paint completely surrounding the two characters-had many dings and such in it.. Also has the news-ticker and stamps on reverse. Some stamps bled through to the image-which here are deleted as well as other ink blots.

#rd-is THE Daniel Boone image ive been yakking about the longest. This one is the original as used for the premier in 1964-then again in rerun in 1970--one and only Chicago Tribune copy-complete with ticker and all the ink and pencil instructions-stamps etc.

The 4th I'm having worked on-aint complete yet. It's an image of Steve McQueen as Reese in: Hell Is For heroes. That one is a still of him lying on his back while tossing a hand-grenade. The original image is dark-as its supposed to be a night-time shot-but is going to be digitally lightened.

These are some images I'm having remastered, because various images are going to be done so that I can have them printed on t-shirts for various friends.

Rusty and Ruthie-are having twin shirts of the Connery image. After the Feb show--ill be having the Moore/Ffolkes/petting cat image restored so it can be used on a shirt-for a couple cat-lovers here.

These restorations aren't cheap-so can only get one done about every two months.

Because she was going to make the added extra-look too far out of whack-for lack of proper words. The lady wasn't centered close enough to be made good use of. Originally, I thought of only having Connery, but that's been out on the net since day one. The lady didn't "really" fit as part of what was really needed.

Should Connery have a Browning rather than a 1911?

A Bridge Too Far 1977 1080p World War II Sean Connery, Robert Redford HD - YouTube
Actually, in the still it shows her facing the camera with hands on face-or near face with terrorized look on face. The lady was just too far on the side to make good use of. The Connery part-would have been too-lop-sided. It happened just after he shot and killed the German.

The 1911 would have been correct for an Airborne unit, the standard British issue was a revolver (and an ugly one at that), the Browning wasn't adopted until 1954 (The Germans had overrun the Browning factory in 1940 and adapted the Browning design for use by the Wehrmacht)

Just out of curiosity, what the rights to reprint those pictures go for?

^^^^I can use them for self-purposes as long as I don't make money on them-otherwise-you have to get permission from the owner to use them. I'm using them as gifts only-so no laws broken. Now-if I have images that are over either 50-70 years and or have never been renewed? then I can make all I want off them. Ive a few like that in the collection-one is a great combat still from a documentary about Bunker Hill-filmed in 1924.

Found it, and yeah cropping her out was a good idea. I'd have been tempted to lose her husband also.

Small correction. FN engineers fled to England with the Hi Power blueprints. It was produced in Canada by Inglis, delivery started about the same time of Operation Market Garden. It is doubtful they arrived in time for that. But the Hi Power was used in both sides of WWII.

Well, that first picture took away all my doubts on the other thread. It is a .45.

Wait till you see that image I have of James Caan as Sgt Dohun-aiming his .45 at the surgeon in the tent-when the surgeon said his captain was dead already. Dohun threateed to blow out his braines if he didn't try saving him. I cant remember-but I don't thing that shot shows the surgeon-just a great frontal of Caan and his .45.

Default That's really cool.....

If I had all the cool still shots from TV and movies I've seen, I'd fill up the Louvre. That's great. What is required? Photoshop? Large format printer???

I took a picture of 'Large Marge' in 'Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure' when her face popped out right off the TV. It came out pretty good. Got a couple of Captain Kirk. The Bruce Lee I got had some TV noise in it, but for some reason it looks cool anyway.

I took a picture of an old manager at the company I worked for, a big East European guy with a rather severe face who was at a podium giving a talk dressed in black with a black jacket. There is a big monitor behind him but it's blacked out. It really made me think of '1984' and 'Big Brother is Watching You'. Made me feel that I should make dystopian movies.

I'm not sure what he does but, he does the restorations digitally-then sends me a scan-and also makes a digital print. The scan will be in his opinion, the best look possible-whether light-dark or otherwise. His prints from the finished restorations-are $10-for an 8x10-which I think very fair. The actual restorations depending on what is needed? can range over $60 per image. The Connery pic would have been even more if I had more of the people deleted out.

This guy is also currently restoring all the artwork for the Art Museum of Corpus Christi--and for other places-and is becoming more and more popular. His work is most impressive, and I just wish I could afford to have more than one image done at a time-as I'm a bit impatient and would like having as many done as possible.

Default I was hoping to make some posters....

I'll have to stick with 8x10". A large format photo quality printer costs over $3000 and that's just 11x17.

When I did CAD design I had an ink jet printer that could handle 24" x 36" and did some decent looking posters. I made one of my beautiful Heidi dog that I've had since 1995. We lost Heidi in 2009 but I still have the poster.

I suppose too, that if I took a picture that I could get somebody the print it small poster size. I don't want to get back into photography big time, maybe this is the next step. I wouldn't mind having a 'cool screen shot' collection.

Default An easy way to do the Sean Connery.....

...would be to crop everything out but him.
