On line firearm sellers?
anyone have recommendations for buying on line? Gunbuyer.com is one I saw elsewhere as being pretty good. the idea, of course, would be to get the gun I want for less than I can at my local gun store

Go to wikiarms.com and search for what you want. They will show you the lowest prices.

Bargin hunter or looking for something particular
I have used Gun Broker, Guns America, and the Gunrunner auctions all to my ends. I've talked to the seller after the winning the auction and maybe fortunate, but no problems. I wish that I had not got involved during the purchase of my Officer Model Match in 38 cal. , could of purchase similar revolver for less, but I'm still in love. So that said, if your gun comes to you less than desire, contact seller ASAP.
These forums are great to fulfill dreams, like "I always wanted to carry a nickel viper in my pants pocket" kind of things.
Always be suspicions, and keep the guards suspicions.

Gunbroker.....
If I guy a gun it's from someone who has sold LOTS of guns and has an A+ rating. You can look at the 'completed items' and see what guns have actually sold for. I've bought about a half dozen guns from them and so far, so good.

We are fortunate up here in Canada to have an online forum with a great "equipment exchange" component (Canadian Gunnutz) . The first thing I check before making an offer on an item for sale on Gunnutz is the trader rating of the seller. That said, I truly believe that us firearms owners/enthusiasts are most likely one of the last bastions of honest dealing on the planet. Just sayin.
