Testing, test, test....How's my typin'?
I'm supposed to get the stitches out of my left hand tomorrow but the index finger is still very stiff a and movement is still uncomfortable. Also the issue with my right hand, arm and shoulder is still unresolved. Bottom line is that typing is still not fun and takes a LOOONG time as I have to stop and let the right side rest now and then. And I'm making a lot of typos that I try to correct...lots more than usual.
But I do seriously miss you guys...and gals. I have been lurking and seeing lots of things going on I'd like to get involved in but...just have to wait and see what the doc says tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be back before I forget all the stuff I have been wanting to post.

I have had a couple problems that messed up my typing. (Not that its much better when I'm at a 100%)
Type slow only using one finger of your best hand. Its slow but gets the job done. I prefer to call it typing with the Columbus method. Discover it and then land on it.
Good luck W.J.

I got smart...try to use my smartphone as much as possible for the site as it has speech to text so I don't have to type...
problem is ....it was designed by some Nigerian scammer and it does not recognize southern dialect very well so I still wind up having to edit and change things like y'all, yonder, fixin' to, druthers, etc..etc....etc....

Anyone who can type only using one finger has to be good.

we'd rather hear from you with typos than not at all.
i only type with my right hand, mostly just one finger, because sitting hurts.
so, i'm lying down propped on my left elbow typing.
one gets fast after a while, but i don't use caps much.
too hard.

I never meant to be cryptic. It's no big mystery and no big deal, except for when I want to type. But You'll have the full story SOON. even if I have to use the dreaded Columbus tecnique, I promise. It's really a totally different deal for each hand. Just happen to get 'em both at the same time...

scared me for a minute there. Thought you might be talkin' about some kind of surgery. I googled it; not a bad idea but I'm runnin' short of volunteers. But it's the thought that counts. thanks!

a few years ago I had to have Carpal tunnel operation for both hands, I said I wanted to get them both once at once. My wife put a quick stop to it, "I will not be wiping your but". So it goes with out saying I had two surgeries.

I was talking to the guy at the end of my road a few years ago, he was telling me he talked his DR into doing both hands at once.
He is single and lives alone but told the DR he had a live in girlfriend to help him .
He never stopped to think about anything like getting dressed, cooking or even going to the bathroom.

....the rest of the story.
You know how seriously difficult it is to get into something you buy these days (loss prevention technology) On Tuesday March 20th I was trying to open the new clothes bar for the car and it was in heavy plastic with two cable ties through it. I pushed on my knife a little too hard and it slipped. The blade went clean through the index finger of my left hand. In one side and out the other scraping over the top of the bone along the way. No arterial hemorrhage but huge gouts of blood none the less. So I wound up with two parallel wounds about an inch or so apart. Went to our neighborhood urgent care place and the doctor cleaned out the woudns and all along the path of the knife blade and sewed me up. healing up very nicely and only about a 5% reduction left in the movement of the finger.
Far more serious and problematic is the right hand. I haven't seen a doctor about it yet but I believe I have two problems here. Carpel tunnel syndrome and a pinched nerve. Both would require surgery. The carpel tunnel I could do but I know several people that had the surgery for the pinched nerve (in the neck) and it ruined them. The numbness and pain are hell and rob me of my sleep but I'd rather live with that than be totally ruined for life. At this point I'm not willing to risk it.
This all started a couple of days before I stabbed myself. Pam has been after me to get it looked at and I finally caved in. She is going to call her neurologist next week and get me an appointment. I'll see the doctor but if I do get the surgery it'll be after the fight.
I'll try to keep up with y'all but typing is hell so please be patient with me. I hope y'all are having a good Easter Sunday!

...and a pleasant and Blessed Easter to you and yours.
Sorry to hear of the difficulties with the nerve function. Hopefully the prognosis will be positive and the results of the fix better than if you performed the procedure on yourself... based upon your own knife skills .

I recently had a "extended" carpal tunnel surgery (in Nov), and it is coming along fine. It was done by a Hand Specialist, and not just a little cut, but 9 CM long with relocation of some tendon/nerves. I had been so bad I couldn't type more than a paragraph without the hand going numb. I had had a prior tunnel release surgery over 25 years previously. If your problem is extensive I recommend seeing a real specialist to resolve it, full recovery is going to be 6-9 months, but I'm about 95% at 5 months. I wish you success.
