Default Love my John Deere

I have a 28hp compact Edrive.
It has been bulletproof for over 10 years now.
I bought it barely used.
It finally stalled on me yesterday. It was due to water build up in the fuel.
My fault for not finding and checking the water separator filter.
Drained it, disconnected the fuel lines and drained them.
Pumped the primer for the fuel pump and back in business.
It's been very forgiving of user neglect and let me learn a lesson.
What a great machine. There's a reason other than green paint that makes a Deere run.

My Dad bought a 165 HYDRO 48 inch cut John Deere Garden Tractor Lawn Mower in 1984 or 1986. And used it until He died in 1996. Then I inherited it and have had it for the past 20+ years. I change the oil 3 times a year, use non ethanol gas and keep it tuned up and the blades sharpened by the John Deere Dealer. I have never had any problems with my Dad's old lawn mower. I cut for the first time this year, my yard and the two old widow ladies lawns on either side of me just yesterday. ((( IMHO ))) You just can`t beat a John Deere. Mine is 30+ years old and still going strong.

Love my mini Deere. Pretty sure it's an 80's model.

Got my first tractor a Kubota 30hp in 2014. Loved it, but not heavy enough. Found a 2000 john deere 4x4 64hp that weighs 3 times the Kubota. Love to move dirt from here to over there. I see kids in the sand box with there bull dozers and trucks doing the same and just smile.

Yes, Sportsdrome Speedway, one of the last old time figure 8 tracks. Race every Saturday night in season.

Schedule – Sports Drome

After tilling, spreading compost and topping with mulch...I love it even more.
The older I get the more I love hydraulics.

My childhood and HS days on the farm in Upstate NY, had Johhny Poppers 420, "B" 620, and later vertical diesels the 3010, 4020 power shift, and a 3020.

To this date, the 4020 was far and away the best selling model tractor of any brand ever.

JD sold about 6 millon 4020's. Right combination of horsepower to size. LOTS of them still in use. A good one now will sell for more that it cost new.

We got ours around '67 for $7k IIRC. Deere has the first one off the conveyer belt in their museum. Or was it the last? Anyway, if I ever come into a lot of money a good used 4020 has always been on my list.
