At least that is what the robot call seemingly generated in Wyoming claims. I have tried calling that number back so I can say real viscous, mean and hurtful things to them. Anyone ever called back talked to a live person ?

I tried to call the number they provided, but they evidently didn't want to have a conversation, and I didn't have a chance to use some words I learned in high school.

I'll be sent to prison in 48 hours. I hope I can bring a pair of long johns

I got 3 of those calls a day for more than a month. I did call them back and they did answer a couple times. I bs with them a while and then tell them to sent the sheriff by. They hang up on me then.
I still get the calls every now and then.

I posted a week or so ago that I was going to be arrested in 24 hours. I'm still shaking waiting for the feds to break down my door. Why can't they just get it over with? Maybe I should turn myself in.

Yup, I had several of those calls. They're all part of some scam. Don t call back, just block the numbers.

Apropos of taxes, an old man gets audited by the IRS. Goes in for the meeting with the tax man accompanied by his lawyer:

They sit down in the IRS office as the agent pulls out the man's tax records. "it says that the majority of your income is made by gambling, how do you manage that?"

The man replies "I'll show you; I will bet you $1000 that I can bite my own eyeball."

The agent thinks a minute and then agrees to the bet. The man pops out his glass eye and chomps down on it. The agent is surprised and disappointed.

The man then says "you didn't know I had a fake eye, so I'll give you another chance; double or nothing that I can bite my other eye!". The tax agent thinks that of course he can't have two fake eyes, so he agrees. The old man pops out his dentures and chomps them down on his other eye. The agent is distraught, how did he fall for that?

Seeing the agent upset the old man has another offer: " tell ya what, double or nothing one more time that I can stand on one end of your desk, piss into the trash can on the other side without getting a drop on the desk." the tax agent looks at his oversized 8 foot long desk and figures there's no way he can do this, so he takes the bet.

The man unzips, gives it a good try, but ends up pissing all over the agent's desk. The tax agent looks up smiling that he finally won, but then sees the lawyer shaking his head in disbelief. "what's wrong with you" he asked.

The lawyer responds "just before we walked in the door he bet me $10,000 that he could piss all over your desk and you'd be happy about it."

I keep getting calls from some outfit wanting to lower my credit card interest rate, and today is the last day they can make this offer. I usually don't call them back, but having just gotten home from the doctor, I felt like being mean. So I called, and the person who answered had such a thick accent I could barely understand him. He started out by saying that he could lower my rate to 4% right now, and over the next six months, reduce it to zero. I told him that I wanted to start with zero and then over time increase it to 4%. He paused for a minute, and then asked, "How much do you owe on your card?" I told him I didn't have a credit card, so they'd need to provide me with one. There was silence for a few seconds, and then a click as he hung up on me.

These robo calls never stop. Some days I get three calls from the same outfit trying to sell me an extended warranty on cars and trucks I no longer own. I wonder how they got my phone number. I have been told I live in a non-disclosure state and my information is not sold or given away. When I went to register my new car in January, I gave the telephone number that we have for the unused and unplugged in telephone, which is part of the "Triple Play" promotion the cable company sells new customers for a year. You ask why we unplugged the phone; because of all of the scam robo calls we were receiving. Now we just get a list of the phone numbers that have called us on our caller ID device. It still amazes me that anyone is so stupid to give their credit card number to a total stranger who called them. Not all calls are to warranty your car. Oh no, now you can get health insurance, student loan relief and a vacation in Mexico. I have received all those offers and I'm sure others I forgot.

I've all of a sudden been getting calls from a Cincinnati area code on my cell phone. They don't leave messages, so I don't know who it is or what it's about. I don't carry it with me, so I'm usually not around to answer it. I wonder if it is the same scam.

Pay no attention to anyone who claims they are calling from the IRS. The IRS NEVER calls, all communication is through the mail.

Often, well in my country anyway, the number will be rerouted through to another premium phone number that charges up to US$50 a minute to your phone bill for calling them.

It's a scam. Just block the number.

The problem is the calls come from a phony number. The scammers just call again on another phony number. Seemingly, it never stops. The Do Not Call registry don't work for phony, non-existing telephone numbers. I'm afraid that it's a problem that will be around a long time.

It's a scam. They will sent you a letter or show up with a warrant.

The IRS called me and says I owe them money. I gave them the number of the Canadian Lottery I won they just need to send money to them to get my prize.

Microsoft keeps calling and wants to fix my computer because it has been hacked. I think it is pretty decent of them to work on my Apple I-Macs for free.

It may not matter because just the other day I got a call that said, "You have 4 charges against your name, If you don't call to clear this right now the local cops will be there to put you in custody."

I got them all fooled, I'm skipping the country and moving in with a sweet Russian honey that I have been helping with her rent.

I use Nomorobo. It works great. When a robocall comes in, the phone rings once, and the caller disappears into robocall oblivion. It's free for landlines, and costs $1.99 a month for cell phones. You need to have a VOIP (voice over internet protocol) landline though. If your landline is by your internet provider, it is probably VOIP.

Beware, some scammers still dial manually, and Nomorobo won't catch these.

I got one of the fix my computer calls a while back. Guy started in and I said wait before we start I want to telll you about seeing your wife and daughter doing despicable things with dogs on the street corner. (not quite how I said it). Phone goes dead, my wife is staring at me in with an absolute look of horror. I explained and she just shook her head. Sometimes I do a different routine where I am trying to help but, am just horribly confused. I have developed several fun routines over the years. Another for sales calls is going into a routine where I am selling chain, the first 10 f is free they just pay shipping and handling. Leaves them udderly confused to turn the call a complete 180. LOL Hey cheap entertainment if I feel in the mood when they call if not I just give em the cllick.

Someone here suggested one I like. He said to answer the phone in a hoarse voice and say, "It's done, but there's blood all over the place."

I suppose it could result in SWAT at your door, but not likely.

If it appears to be a live person and not a robot, and I'm caught without my glasses and can't see who's calling, I generally just say "Do bugger off, there's a good chap." Or something unpleasant in German.

Today I received an email about an unclaimed Customs shipment - a pallet of currency...apparently I'm the only person they can find who has ownership of it. They just need $3700 in fees, taxes of whatever and I can take possession of the pallet.

I'm guessing it was one of those "Nigerian scams". I had a little fun replying to it. I sent an extremely offensive to them...funny to me email. I'm hoping to get a response.

1. the IRS sends all "you're in trouble" documents by Certified Mail.

2. The summons to see Torquemada is delivered personally by a deputy sheriff.

The moral: never take on a business partner.
