Arizona was the last state admitted to the Union prior to Alaska, and that was in 1912.

I was born under 48 stars, and was present when my state made the 50th star. Born in Hawaii, and very proud of it. Raised in a multi-cultural society, being of Polynesian-mixed race, and always appreciated the multi-national residence of Hawaii!!!
