Default Curious watch.

Not that it has anything to do with firearms other than it resides on my reloading bench. I have a Pulsar watch which has a solar cell for the face. My Wife gave it to me in 1989. It still runs, keeps good time, and I've never changed the battery. I'm amazed.

That is amazing given that electronics and solar technology was comparatively crude in those days. I'm sure it wasn't designed to last 29 years.

I ditched my watch after my first cell phone.

Nothing but pocket watches through high school, wrist watches from college until I retired in 2006. Last year I did break down and buy a Timex that caught my fancy. Wear it on trips so I can see the time without taking my eyes off of the road.

I prefer to get winding watches but they are hard to find. My Mickey Mouse windup still keeps on ticking however.

When I was 15 or 16 I went to Washington, D.C. to do the government tour. That would have been the summer of 1971 or 1972. In the Smithsonian was a display with a Pulsar digital quartz watch with a red LED display. Pulsar made a giant leap forward in timekeeping. I'm not familiar with their solar model from the late 1980s, but I'm sure it was cutting edge. Wear it with pride.

I've been wearing a watch every day since I got my very first one close to 50 years ago. I feel naked without it, can't even go to sleep without it on.

I would love to have one like your Pulsar that has lasted you so long. I'm pretty hard on them so I buy Timex watches - because getting 4 or 5 years out of a $50 watch is a good value IMO.

I have a Cleveland Indians watch made by Bulova that I bought in 1994, the MLB strike year. After many battery changes I am still wearing it every day and just about every where. I wish I could find another one. I want no doubt left as to what baseball team I root for.
