Is Tennessee must notify?
Will be going through the Smokies into TN tomorrow for a few days. Anything I need to know about carry laws, statewide or local?
I don’t smoke or drink so got that covered.  Have multiple state permits.

My understanding, worth what you paid for it, is that there is no duty to inform in Tennessee . . .

You don't have to notify in Tn.
"If" you have a valid carry permit you can carry open or concealed here. Also, if you have a carry permit you can carry in the Smokies National Park or in any of the State Parks.

Does that pertain to having a TN carry permit or one from any other state?
As far as I know, my MA LTC is not honored anywhere but here in MA.

It's my understanding that a MA permit is honored in TN. At least according to: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/massachusetts.pdf

Here’s the states NC recognizes, but you must notify.

Thanks.
We’re passing Asheville on the way to Gatlinburg for a few days, then back down thru the GSMNP( with some stops)on the way to Cherokee for a casino day, and on to Asheville for two days, and back home.
I haven’t been that way in about 4 years or so, looking forward to it.

Last I checked the must notify states are:
Alaska, Arkansas, DC, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas.

James, check out this link....it looks like your MA permit is good in quite a few states, plus ones which don't require a permit at all, like mine (WV). I tried to copy the map, couldn't, but here is the link.
Al the blue states, plus tan Michigan should be good.

I second that recommendation. Most guys who like guns are going to love SMKW. Yes, they have some touristy stuff, but they also have some really wonderful knives there, and an amazing selection, too. Allow some time, the place is big, and packed with lots of really cool stuff!!

Big yes to Smoky Mt knife works.They also sell guns I bought my wife a shield ez there at Easter.She still carries her glock 43 .But she shows the EZ off to her clients at work and in carry classes.Sorry for drift have a good time in Tn.

I have to recommend both Bud's and SMKW, and throw in an additional quick stop while on that end of Sevier County, J Floyds golf and guns is attached to a Shell station I think (539 Winfield Dunn Pkwy 37876), next to the Golden Corral. There is a little gun shop in the back where I have bought several small arms at good prices. On second thought, do not go in there, I havent been in a couple months and you might beat me to my next good find.
