Have you seen me?
I'm the old retired codger aimlessly driving the red pickup truck, going well below the speed limit, with my LEFT turn signal constantly on. I slow down long before I get to an intersection, come to a stop, then turn RIGHT.
Have you seen me?
God bless,
Birdgun

Far too many times over the last 50 years. What are you now - 130 years old?

Not in NM!
Nobody here uses a turn signal.

YES, & KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
I'd much rather have more of you & less of the aggressive/speeding/tail gaitors/ bobbing & weaving while texting/ no headlights at dusk or in the rain. At least with the turn signal ALWAYS ON, you will be correct 50% of the time.

Best response so far.
Besides, what the OP relates is all perfectly
normal for any sane driver.
Now bring back the Double Nickel on the highways and
get rid of right turns on red.

"Have you seen me?"
No, because I never look outside the vehicle as I drive down the road, eating, drinking, combing my hair, putting on makeup, playing with the radio, making cell phone calls, etc....

You just described me w/the exception of the red pickup. I’ll be poking along in a 5 y/o Toyota Avalon. A state trooper stopped me last year b/c I was driving too slow.

No, I haven't seen you this week, but I was behind your brother "Uncle Buck" the other day driving his 1977 Mercury Marquis down the freeway at 45 MPH in the fast lane with his left blinker on.

No, PR, I prefer just turning right. Turning left I have to cross in front of oncoming traffic. That bothers me. Too many crazy drivers on the roads today, ya know.
I've also noticed that folks honk their horns and yell out their windows more than they did 30-40 years ago.

I used to follow you going home from work, when you had that brown truck. I thought it was strange that you turned on your blinker for that curve in the road, until I caught myself doing it.

My Grandma must of been your sister! She drove a Ford Pinto all over San Antonio and Austin up until her late 80's. Friends and family would always tell her to park the car, she refused.
Granma's favorite bakery was north of San Antonio in the town of New Braunfels. For everyone's birthday she would make the trip to pick up birthday cakes for all the grandkids, great grandkids and such.
My mom and dad got repeated calls from everyone (including Police) commenting she was a danger on the road. Her rebuttal was her car got good gas mileage and she did not want to waste gas going over 50 mph. Plus she double dog dared the police to take her license away!! She even went and took the driver license exam and drivers test to prove she was a safe driver! Examiner passed her with no problem.
She drove up to the week before she passed away. We miss her, the cakes and the Pinto.

Yep, I've Seen You...
And a couple million of your Fellow Travelers down here in Sunny Florida.
It seems that way back when, right about the time that the Legislature changed our State Motto from 'The Sunshine State' to 'God's Waiting Room', lot's of y'all moved here. I suspect that many of our northeastern states have passed laws requiring retirees to move to Florida or face long prison terms. I also suspect that this was an attempt to keep car insurance rates reasonable 'Up Nawth'.
I end up driving behind you every day. One trick that you constantly use on me, and one that you failed to mention, is when you wait until the last possible moment to pull out in front of me, often 'punching it' to do so, and then, once you've secured your spot just in front of me, and right about the time my brakes have started cooling off from avoiding slamming into your rear end, you slow down to a speed that's, on average, about 15 MPH lower that the posted limit.
However, I work through all of this without too much grumbling because a lot of y'all migrated down here with some very nice old Smith & Wesson's, and you've been kind enough to share them with me at some very reasonable prices.
Drive Safe!

Reminds me of my Dad (of blessed memory). He drove so slow there would be a string of cars following.
If only I could have him back for just one day...

Did you move to Denver, buy a fleet of Subaru’s, hire and train a bunch of idiot of drivers? I see you every day along with your fleet driving 5 under the limit in the left lane of every highway around town.

Are you the same old guy that I get behind at the Bank's drive-thru window that takes twenty-minutes?
He's there almost every time I go to the bank!

My old gunsmith buddy was a huge man. He had a habit of following a car that never used their directional signals until they stopped. He always yelled out the window to them. " Is your car still under warranty? If so, take it back, your directionals don't work."

You know, if you drive 10 miles below the speed limit on the highway, you can instantly tell if the Town, City, County, State, FBI, SS or aliens are tailing ya. Turning right when signaling left is just another well practiced evasive maneuver.
Would have thought you old timers have figured this out by now.
