A Seecamp .32ACP pistol loaded with Winchester Silvertip Hollow-points was a very popular pocket-carry in it's day. Demand was usually way ahead of supply.
RIP Larry

I carry one of his .32s 5-6 days a week. Have a cell phone with a clock on it, no more wrist watch. Seecamp engineering is the closest thing to a swiss watch!

This makes me sad. In a world of mega-mass production, lookalike products, and wretched customer service, Larry Seecamp pretty much stood on top of his own mountain.
It's just really sad to see these true craftsmen go. That's all I can think to say.

A giant in the gun industry, and a heckuva human being. I talked to him many years ago when the 380 was in pre production, and bought one of the first ones.

RIP LARRY
Kudos to Papa Ludwig & Larry for a fine product. 32ACP 24/7. When size really does matter, the Rolls Royce of pocket pistols won't disappoint.

From all accounts I've read he was a kind, considerate man. A true professional at his trade. May he rest in peace.

Nice guns and a great man to be sure.
Just wish they had sights, I can't bring myself to own a gun without any sights at all. And don't feed me the "it'll get hung up in your pocket!" or other such nonsense as that. If that were true, few pocket guns would have sights, only Seecamps don't.

What a shame.
Rest in peace, Mr. Seecamp. I've enjoyed and carried one of your dandy little pistols for many years.
Picture is what I've been able to achieve with my L. W. Seecamp at seven yards.

Thank you. I was fortunate and that was a particularly good day with all shots slow fired with a lot of concentration. Staying within the 9 ring out to seven yards is no problem, but all within the 10 ring takes a bit more work.

RIP MR. Seecamp
The highest tribute that I can pay to Seecamp, is the fact that I trust one of their .32s for my protection, anytime that I drive away from my home. I've done so, since I bought it 25 years ago. It's been in my possession, concealed, while driving RVs, Automobiles, motorcycles, and scooters, all over, the USA, and Canada. In that time it has never discovered, or failed to fire properly. Try to match that record, with any other semi auto, of your choice, folks!

Very sorry to hear this. I had the pleasure of speaking with Larry many years ago on the phone, was a great guy. Yes, I have one of his fine guns. His Father was a master gunsmith and did a lot of great custom work.
Believe it or not, it was one of my suggestions that started a category on the Seecamp Forum

I feel that I must come to the defense of Seecamp pistols, in small payment, for the defense they'v provided for me. Our forum members have made complaints, about these Seecamp pistols, such as making suggestions, that would improve their design, and performance, such as, wanting the addition of rear sights. I can only assume that they have added rear sights to all of their knives. Then there are the folks that are concerned about the target shooting capabilities of those little weapons. There are also, our members that are concerned, with firing many thousands of practice rounds in them. I believe that all of this concern is wasted, on an ultra small semi auto "Belly Gun", that was designed with only one purpose in mind, To provide a small, easy to conceal, defense weapon, at very close, "Belly Gun" range. In my estimation, It does this as well, or better than any weapon, of it's type, ever designed. "Nuff Said"

Is this still active? I'd like to go lurk around.
I wrote Luis in '79 expressing my interest in a DA conversion for a Stainless 1911. He had replied he didn't work on SS for good reasons and I accepted that. He was a classy guy. He mentioned working on a 25acp, still in development and I believe some eventually went to market. I have a CA edition 32. I still would like a 1911 conversion for the cool factor. The best I could do is a Double Eagle in 10mm with it's fat grip, and like a Sig and S&W not a 1911.

Sights are not needed to press it against someone's neck. On a life size silloette target I managed to keep all shots in the head/neck @ app 10-12', the very first time firing it. With practice, I would expect it to only get better. NOBODY'S trying to "FEED YOU" anything, nor are arms are being twisted to buy them. See how many used ones you run across, & the feedback from those that own them & won't part with them. YES, they are different from "most" other small pistols. No hold open. The size makes the internal parts small as well & they will need replacing much sooner than bigger more robust guns. Fortunately the internal parts are few & inexpensive (buy more than 1 set). NOT a gun for someone that likes to fire high volumes with little to no care. The stainless frame is almost tank like for it's size, fit and finish excellent IMO. DON'T EXPECT your avg RO to be able to check it & show clear, they have their quirks/differences that need to be learned.

You feel free to eat whatever you like, BUT, as for me, my current/future pocket guns will NOT have sights!
I would never feel the need to tell others what they must (or must NOT) carry, but only a fool would make a statement that sights CAN'T get "hung up" when presenting a weapon from the pocket.
FYI, I've had "pocket" pistols, in the past, that "hung up" on the sights when drawing them from my pocket, so don't tell me it can't happen.
