Default NE Ohio Bunch Fall Meeting—Pictures added

Hope everyone is having a great summer. Saturday October 6th from 9 am till 3 pm, will be a great way to welcome winter and the upcoming hunting season. We meet at North Olmsted Sportsman club, 5743 Bradley rd, North Olmsted oh 44070. The April Bunch we had 70 people attend. Hope all, of you spent money on new guns to display.

Admission is 5.00 and a plate of food to share, enough fo 10-15 people. Be creative so we eat good food like we always do. I provide all the plates, bowls, napkins, toothpicks and plastic ware. Full kitchen cooking facility is available, oven, grittle, microwave and stove. Bring a friend if he likes S&W’s to share a ride.

Bring your favorite S&W’s to display. Guns, boxes and accessories can be brought to sell but not a WHOLE TABLE FULL. There are 20 8 ft tables available, first come first serve. If needed we can crunch together. BRING a COMFORTABLE lawn chair for sitting, the club chairs are hard plastic.

Security, while talking watch what is going on, if someone picks something up make sure he doesn’t walk out the door with it. Let me know and I will confront him. Nothing has been stolen in 10 1/2 years. Concealed carry is allowed but keep the gun in its holster. There is a unloading board on the wall if you need to unload it to show someone.

Friday nite meet, will add something on this as it develops. No details yet. Some have been wanting to meet on the Friday night before because Saturday seems to go by so fast. Will add things as I remember as this thread progresses. Larry

UPDATE ON HOTELS, go to post #50 to see the area to stay. You will have to choose your own place, this is a safe area to stay. Will try to get something going on Friday night.

Hey Larry, I have got the date marked on my calendar. I will do my best to attend, probably bring my brother along as well.

Not sure if I will bring anything to display or not. You guys are probably tired of looking at my 3" guns. I have added a couple of unique 3" 44 magnums to my fledgling collection. I might try to display them again.

Looking forward to it!! Best regards, Bob.

How time flies, it will be the kickoff of my birthday month. Still looking for that elusive 4 or 5" 38/44 HD.

Down in Dayton for the weekend. See we have a new member already, ontheroad. Welcome, you should have fun on October 6th.

Remember to be creative with the dish you bring to share. Everyone so far that posted knows, the better the dish, the better we eat.

Trying to get a custom gunsmith to attend and show off some of his work to us. Gonna take a gun to him to have reblued and try him out. Bought a few new guns to display, Larry

Glad Ron chimed in, anyone in the NE Ohio or within an easy drive can attend. If you live out of Ohio and like S&W products, join us. It’s a fun Gun day, Larry

Bob and I plan to attend from the Youngstown area. We will bring the Rulli Bros sandwich ring for all to enjoy. Would encourage all to attend if at all possible. Great bunch of people with knowledge and displays not easily seen outside of a OGCA or show of the same.

When I read about the sandwich ring my mouth started to water. Anyone buy some new guns since spring?? Two of mine were CZ’s, got a Cajunized 97 in .45 acp with a fastfire reflex sight on it. Very accurate. Also bought a .22 Kadet conversion for the CZ 75 in 9mm. Will have the pre-16 on display. Larry

The other week I bought a Kel-Tec PMR-30, Ruger 10/22 receiver group to build a nos rifle, Savage A 17 rifle and a S&W 629-6 6" .44 Remington Magnum. I traded a window a/c for a Stoeger Condor II 12ga. o/u.

Those CZ-75's are terrific guns, my ex uses one as her CCW handgun. Had to replace a broken firing pin and slide stop, not an uncommon failure, get spares.

Just wanted to bump this thread back up. If you are reading this , like Smith and Wesson's and are within a comfortable driving distance, you really need to attend.

The venue is not far from the freeway, a bit small but cozy. The people and their knowledge is first rate. The displays and items for sale are far superior to what you will see at most local gun shows. The quality and quantity of the food alone is enough reason to attend. I believe the old adage was "try it you'll like it".

See you there, Bob.

Well, just maybe the wife and I will be able to attend. She and her brother are going to an auction on Sept. 7th to try and buy a 260 acre farm, about 6 miles from the original family farm, which is a little over 100 acres. Raising beef cattle and growing corn, soy bean, and wheat on the family farm. So, if they can get it, our trip to Maine will be put on hold.

Looks like they may have approval from a local bank to make the purchase.

If the farm becomes a reality, the family farm will be used to raise beef cattle (looking at 150 or so head), and the new farm will be used to grow crops.

There are 2 houses on the farm, so we may be moving into one of them. The farm is very well maintained, has a large blueberry patch on it ($$$), and a large wooded area with several varieties of trees, including a lot of Black Walnut (more $$$). The outbuildings are in very good shape too.

Since I travel to Michigan,I checked with him where at,in Flint. Probably about a 4 hour ride.
About a month(5 1/2 weeks) to go before the 'bunch'. Been trying to catch up on my 'gardening' activities lately. I raise and propagate hostas and one variety of daylily. Daylilies, for those unfamiliar, are typically the tall 'tigerlilies' growing about 4 ft tall. I have an abundance of miniature (2-3 ft tall) red daylilies. They are young clusters in pots and won't reach maturity (blooming size) until they are planted and naturalize. If anyone coming to the 'bunch' wants some,I've got about 100 potted. Take em home for the wife (or yourself) if you're a gardener.

Denny, you have more hobbies then I knew about. Your trips to Cedar Point are coming to an end soon. Do you still have the model 28 from the spring meeting?. Larry

Larry,the 6" 28 was sold a few months back,eventually to be replaced with a 4" 28.
Regular Cedar Point season ends Labor day, then for only weekends in September and October.

Hobbies? I consider them interests. Astronomy(since the 70s'),Photography(since the 70s'-got into that because of wanting to take pictures thru the telescope),Firearms, gun shows(I consider that a separate interest from firearms),travelling-driving to Michigan,North Carolina,Florida,My Camaro Z28(just got done putting a complete different rear end in it-72 and did it myself),gardening-but not veggies. I'll probably think of more.

MORE:Amusement Parks-rollercoasters,Reloading/handloading,Cruise-ins/Car shows with the Z28,Electronics-building power supplies to charge batteries from 'button' batteries up to car batteries.

I hope to attend the Fall bunch but will let you know as we get closer. Band, choir and marching band to work around this year!
I'll bring a couple S&W's that I didn't bring last time and of course a good dish of something.

Denny put me in for a few day lilies. I rode my first roller coaster at Conneaut Lake this year with my grandson. I think that it will be my last, neck hurt for days. For those on the fence, the Bunch S&W and Horticultural Exhibit is well worth the drive. Might make chili with beans this time.

I rode that one with my son and daughter in 2016. That wooden coaster was fun but hard on the back!

That rollercoaster in the previous 2 posts,I'm guessing,is the classic 'Blue Streak'. It's not my type of coaster but it doesn't bother me to ride it. Back in the late 90s',ACE (American Coaster Enthusiasts) had a spring outing to paint the wood before the season opened. I didn't paint too much as I don't like painting. But anyway, the coasters I enjoy started being made in the early 90s', High, fast, and 'smooth'. 300' Millenium Force. 420' Top Thrill Dragster.

Just wondering if anyone will come in on Friday night, the night before? Bam-Bam, are you serious about coming the nite before?? Model 19-6” is looking for a hotel and I’m trying to find something. The exit just east of Stearns-Crocker is rt 252 exit 6a & 6b which is a safe area with a big mall and lots of restaurants and HOTELS. Let me know who will come in early, we can get together on Friday somewhere. Larry

Lets see if we can put a crew together.........no Soccer that day for my youngest..... I'm GTG

FYI some Bad news; JR; with all his S&W stuff can't make it.....he's got his son's College weekend......

Dinner, an adult beverage ....or two .....and a few hours of BS's sounds like fun.... vs a 5 am alarm ....

OK, search hotels in North Olmsted and a bunch come up at I-480 and rt 252. The La Quinta comes up cheap and is a newer hotel. Never stayed at one so I don’t know the quality. With the Great Northern mall right there it is a safe area. Lots of food & hotels right there. Lorain rd is close and the club is close to Lorain west of this area. Where the Ohio turnpike meets I-480 is 2 cheap motels but not as safe as the other area. If anyone stays overnight, let me know and we can plan something on Friday night.

POST here where you plan on staying, maybe others can stay close or at the same place. Larry
