Nice fish and a great place to spend some time.

Have a drink in the Salty Dawg for me.

2017=
We had to go out of Homer because of winds. Fishing was slow=caught 4 15-20 pounders for 2 of us but we saw 2 dozen orcas, 12 humpbacks, and 12 sea otters. Next day wife and I caught a 35 pounder and a 55 pounder out of Kenai but only saw one Mihnke whale.

Can't get pictures to post!

First trip (2015) brought back ~80 pounds of filets! (Two LARGE ice chests full!) Going again next summer!

That is some good eating when caught in the cold waters off Alaska ..
Those are actually pretty small .. they can get well over 100 pounds ..

Is Kenia Joe's still up there .. one of the coolest bar up there when I was there in 69 ..

Caught this one out of Seward. One hundred and sixty five pounds on the hoof.

He was 200 feet down.

Tasted real good.

enjoy,

You guys are getting to enjoy the benefits of Alaska. I'm envious, I spent 12 months there on Shemya Island wearing olive drab everyday and watching radar monitors until my eyes crossed. No fishing. It is a beautiful state, outside of the Aleutian Islands.

I suspect the fish is suspended and he’s not holding it up with one arm

I took the attached "still life" in Seward several years ago. Not my catch, but I love the contrast with the little red guy.

The crew uses colored zip ties to identify each customer’s catch. I was gray zip ties.
