Default 'Tis the season

To check your hurricane supplies.

Just finished pulling out the generator. Went through it. Cranked it up on the first pull, hooked it up to the transfer switch, and everything works properly.

Remainder of the supplies have been being replinished with each trip to the grocery store.

Gas cans accounted for, will be filled with non-ethanol gas at the first sign of trouble. Then, hopefullly put in the vehicles at the end of hurricane season.

"Be prepared"

I feel for you folks along the coastlines. You wouldn't think us Ohio Valley residents would have to worry about Hurricanes at all, but after the tail end of Ike passed through here 10 years ago, even we are not immune to the effects. My neighbors were without electric for 10 days...I was the only one on my street who had power

We had the tail end of a hurricane going through here in 2005 while my house was being built. It rained for days. But that did prove that my basement walls were watertight.

I had a generator put in for normal power outages because of my medical issues. This just gives me another good reason for having it.
