Default Air Show Photography and more

Lots of you have seen my firearms photography, but that is just ordinary product shots. Someone asked what else I photograph

I love Air Shows, always have since I was a wee little boy.

Here are some of my favorite shots from previous Air Shows that I have worked.

F16 in a turn

F22 in a turn

HH-60 Pave Hawks coming in for aerial refueling
Image shot from the ground

HH-60 Pave Hawk coming in for aerial refueling
Image shot out the loading ramp of the HC-130 tanker
Yes, he was close

Aero L-39 Albatros

Heavy Metal Flight Team in formation

Thunderbirds in formation

While not an Air Show photo, this is the Space Shuttle Atlantis heading up the on-ramp to State Road 405. It was being moved from the Vehicle Assembly Building to NASA's Space Port USA where it was put on permanent display

When is the last time you saw a Space Shuttle on the Highway

I also enjoy doing night photography

Looking into Dallas
from the roof of Xerox Corporate headquarters

Just the lake behind my house

Shot for the cover of a book

There is so much more to share. I do not think I can post the glamour, lingerie or swimsuit photos here

Many of my "G" rated photos can be seen at OneModelPlace.Com/OM4Ti

To see anything beyond "G" the site requires registration. No this is not a scheme to get your credit card info, just protecting the images

Nice pics, colt_saa. But you labeled the second picture posted wrong. That isn't a F-35, which is a single engine aircraft. That is a F-22 Raptor.

Good catch

Some guys were talking F35s yesterday and I guess I still had it on the brain

Here is another shot of the F22

Only space shuttle I ever saw was piggy-backed on a Boeing 747 landing at Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, about 1980 or so.

Every time I see a photo of a C130 I can feel the vibrations in the fillings of my teeth and the parachute harness snugging up around my man muscles (I experienced over 100 take-offs, but only about a dozen landings; rest of the time I left out the door during flight). Fantastic aircraft, in service nearly as long as I've been drawing breath, but probably the most uncomfortable ride ever.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing.

The only two that I photographed on the ground that day was the B1 that would not be flying in the airshow that day and our HC-130

We had a nice look at the Air Force Base as we took to turn to head up the coastline

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

I appreciate all that impressive hardware as much as the next person, but what I enjoy most about these shows is meeting the fine young folks that wear the uniform.

I enjoy talking to the personnel that man the static displays. Their demeanor and professionalism is refreshing, especially in view of their youth.

The view out the rear of the herky bird almost made my sphincter clench.
By the way Colt, your lake looks a bit high...

Keeping that loading ramp open gave us a good breeze and kept us cool inside that plane. Also we had to let some PJs out to join in the Air Show

That lake is not too far from you, just off of Sheridan street

It was high at the time of the photo. Our streets stayed dry during any heave rain or Hurricane (so far). All the water ran into the lake. I have seen it over the docks, but never up to the houses

That lake and the surrounding area is home to MANY Iguana

Always an interesting subject for an image

Thanks for some wonderful photos.

Did you do that for a living? Probably could have. You're good, and versatile.

Thanks for the kind words

I grew up in Photography. My father had a photo studio when I was born. In my school days we owned the largest camera shop in the Midwest.

No matter what I have done to pay the bills over the decades, I was always doing photography as well.

Lots of images published in magazines and books, many posters sold over the years, etc.

Your guess would be correct.

All my photos over the last several decades have been shot with Olympus cameras, both film and digital.

The Iguana photos were shot with a Leica zoom lens on my Olympus digital body, very sharp and great contrast

This shot of the Blood Super Moon a couple of years back was taken with a giant Olympus telephoto. The tiny white spots in the image are not noise or dust but distant stars

The same camera setup caught this pelican in flight

Love the photos. That is some excellent work. Speaking of airshows, as I type this have the Thunderbirds whipping around the area right now. It's the Capital Air Show this weekend, and depending on the wind, they'll often fly right over the house.

Your f-4 photos reminded me of one of my favorites.
A German AF F-4 in a picture I called "Turnin' and Burnin'".
