I know that some of you lot like watches, and we've discussed them here.
My son recently sent me a Marathon desk clock after I moaned that my old Victorinox quit after about 30 years. Fresh batteries failed to revive it, so I guess some critical component failed. And Victorinox, at least not via Swiss Army Brands, seem not to market clocks here now, just watches. I stumbled across this watch channel, on which a Brit who lives also in New York, maybe on Long Island, does extraordinary watch reviews.
Here he unboxes and describes a sort of CARE package sent by the Marathon company in Canada.
I like my new Marathon desk model which is a quartz analog model in black with red alarm switch and white hands with a yellow second hand having a red tip. It's about twice the size of my beloved Vic., which I now have on a bookcase for sentiment. Anyway, this guy mentions that Marathon supplies many military units, even CIA, with watches and clocks. Have any of you who've served on active duty recently, especially in battle zones ever heard of Marathon?
Just wondering what you may know of the company. My clock says it's designed in Canada, but is made in China. The design part is okay, but I have reservations about the place of manufacture. This product, though, seems well made.
Enjoy the video and let me know your experience with the Marathon company, please.
Check out this man's channel. He reviews some very nice watches, including a Grand Seiko and their other models and various famous Swiss brands.
Oh: here, he's out in the woods, apparently hunting, but says his rifle (?) isn't for deer. But he has recently enjoyed venison stew. Look at the knives seen in some of his videos. There's one here that I can't ID, and also an Opinel. Can anyone ID his gun, on a camo sling?
I like his office, seen in most videos, and his taste in classy music, played low in the background.
