Default S&W Customer Service

Last Spring, one of the optic mounting bolts on my CORE came loose during a match. In a fit of pique, I tightened it after shooting the stage, and must have applied too much torque as I noticed it was broken two weeks ago. I took the pistol to a local gunsmith who was able to remove the stub without damaging the threads.

Last week, I contacted S&W Customer Service, and asked if a set of mounting bolts associated with Plate #5 was available for purchase. I was very politely informed that a set of bolts was in the mail FREE OF CHARGE. The bolts came in the mail today.

This is the second positive experience I've had with S&W Customer Service. The first concerned recoil springs and recoil buffers for a Model 22-A, a pistol no longer in production. When I contacted Customer Service about purchasing a number of these items I was informed that they would provide me with three sets free of charge.

After reading some of the negative comments regarding S&W Customer Service on the Forum, I thought it might be beneficial to "balance the books" so to speak, as I've had nothing but positive experiences.

On a related note, I own a 629-6, a Model 41, a Model 22-A, a M&P CORE 9 Pro Series, and a M&P CORE 40 Performance Center. Nothing but positive experiences with all of them.

I bought a S&W 915, a gen 3 semi auto economy model that was a re import . The safety had some problems. I sent it back , I didnt think they would touch it. They fixed it for free.

Whenever I read online about someone having a hissy fit with S&W customer service I just look away...

Over the past 4 years I have emailed S&W and received not one but two RSA's for my M&P shield 9mm, my M&P 9mm, A rear fiber optic sight for my SW22 Victory without hesitation. A replacement rubber grip for my S&W 617.
I sent in my M&P 9mm for the M&P action package, highly recommended!
I sent in my 4" HB model 10-8 to get the reblue & polish, they even replaced the hand and installed new wood grips free of charge. Came back better than new!

Within 3 weeks I sent in my 642 with a damaged frame and they promptly sent to my FFL a replacement handgun!

Each & every one of my dealings with S&W customer service has been extremely positive. I even got both of my rebates within 45 days after sending them out.

I've had 4 experiences with them and all have been good. They had one 686 for 5 months but told me it would take about that long (I think they needed something that wasn't in production) and kept me updated the whole time. I'm a happy camper and value their service.
