Last Spring, one of the optic mounting bolts on my CORE came loose during a match. In a fit of pique, I tightened it after shooting the stage, and must have applied too much torque as I noticed it was broken two weeks ago. I took the pistol to a local gunsmith who was able to remove the stub without damaging the threads.
Last week, I contacted S&W Customer Service, and asked if a set of mounting bolts associated with Plate #5 was available for purchase. I was very politely informed that a set of bolts was in the mail FREE OF CHARGE. The bolts came in the mail today.
This is the second positive experience I've had with S&W Customer Service. The first concerned recoil springs and recoil buffers for a Model 22-A, a pistol no longer in production. When I contacted Customer Service about purchasing a number of these items I was informed that they would provide me with three sets free of charge.
After reading some of the negative comments regarding S&W Customer Service on the Forum, I thought it might be beneficial to "balance the books" so to speak, as I've had nothing but positive experiences.
On a related note, I own a 629-6, a Model 41, a Model 22-A, a M&P CORE 9 Pro Series, and a M&P CORE 40 Performance Center. Nothing but positive experiences with all of them.
