And the heat index here today was in the mid-90’s! Looks like heaven up there.

General Texas season opens in
one month. Bow season has started.
Hope I am not wearing in a T shirt opening day.
Texas needs a good cold snap.

Same here down in the lower Piedmont of North Carolina. Though once this latest storm passes it's supposed to "cool off" over the weekend. No idea what that means.

...we had record heat in September...lots of days in the 90s in Denver...
...normal high today in Denver is 71...it never made it out of the 30s today...
...highest forecast temp the next 7 days in Denver is 60...with a 32 for a high on Sunday...39 degrees below normal...
...big time pay back for that warm spell...
...up here we have had clouds...fog and light snow for three days...and right now we are at 26 degrees...

Son in law put my trail camera on a tree over looking water trough. Lots of pics, deer, birds, my dumb cat, dogs & a fox. No lions yet but they are around. Also black bears.

That’s not a basset hound, that’s a chilly dog!

Everyone knows deer are plentiful and easy to find until the season starts and then they hide. (Unless you are driving down the road, in which case they are everywhere) Glad i am in Oklahoma, snow shouldn't be seen until December. That Basset hound needs a warm fireplace to curl up in front of after being in the little bit of snow.

The stretch of road between the top of golden gate canyon and Nederland was especially hairy this morning (weds). Winter is close!

...both Basset Hounds...the cat...and the wife have been enjoying the wood stove...
...cut down a good sized pine and have used most of it the last three days...

My dads favorite dog was a basset, ole Sam. We would take him rabbit hunting. After the first shot you did not have to worry about Sam he would be waiting at the truck.

Give it a few more days and it will be trying to please you. They are forecasting the high 30's for early next week, but with a chance of rain around the Midland area. I'm glad I brought my coat this hitch, working nights.

Sounds like my great uncle Clay's beagle Pedro. He took Pedro rabbit hunting. Uncle Clay spotted a bunny and fired his shotgun. Pedro was sitting at the car within minutes.
