Sure hope you brought plenty of Pepto Bismol, tums, and a couple rolls of your favorite TP. getting caught short isn't funny. But glad to hear that you survived the ordeal.Frank

If one whirl would get rid of it all, you're a better man than I, Greg.
A day's worth of whirls would be more my speed, and Rusty's supercharged plunger might be necessary the keep the flow goin'.

I'm not much for taking on huge dish challenges, but I'm REALLY tuned in to hot food challenges!
Back about ten years ago, when Adam Richman was still hosting 'Man Vs Food', it was one of my favorite shows. I started taking notes whenever he would do a hot food challenge, as I was travelling professionally back then, I had to opportunity to take on some of the challenges I watched Adam attempt on his shows.
So far I have taken on, and beaten:
1 & 2) The Hellfire Wing Challenge at Smoke Eater's in San Jose, Ca, TWICE. The first time was pretty easy, the second time, two weeks later, almost laid me out. This is easily the most difficult challenge I've done.
3) Quaker Steak & Lube's 'Triple Atomic Wing Challenge' at their location in Bristol, Va.
4) The World's Hottest Vindaloo Curry (Phaal) Challenge at Brick Lane in NYC.
I LOVE uber-hot Indian dishes, especially vindaloo. When I hit a new Indian restaurant my order goes something like this...
Me: "I'll have the lamb vindaloo, please."
Server: "Very good sir, how hot would you like that?"
Me: "I want it so hot that the cook won't eat it!"
Server: "Um, Okay."
I did this once in an Indian restaurant in Salzburg, Austria. About halfway though that one (and it was Biblically hot), the chef came out to check on me. Once he saw that I was fine, I had to pose for a picture with the cook and wait staff!
One of my favorites was in a restaurant in Melbourne, Australia, which offered a dish called 'One Dangerous Bombay Goat'. That one was fantastic! It was, indeed, dangerous.
I'll go ahead and answer the obvious question. Yes, with these super-duper hot dishes one does get to enjoy it twice. Let's just say that the morning-after theme song is always Johnny Cash's 'Burning Ring of Fire'!
Next up for me is the 'World's Hottest Sushi Challenge' at Banzai in Charleston, SC. I'm not so much worried about the heat, but the challenge includes eating TEN sushi hand-rolls, each inching a bit farther up the heat scale. I just don't know if I'm up to ten rolls, but we'll see!

Three comments:
1. Is Red Adair's company still in business?
2. Not all the flames in Southern Louisiana come from oil well methane burn-off.
3. And the Big Gorilla no longer has to worry about where to find another consigliere who is well versed in Code Napoleon.

I did eat at this restaurant back in the early 70's. They were known especially for two things. If you wore a necktie into the restaurant they would cut it off of you and staple it to the ceiling. The ceiling was almost totally covered with hanging neckties. The other specialty was if you could eat a 6 lb. steak and the dinner sides in 90 minutes then the dinner was free. If you couldn't down it all then you paid for the meal. It was amazing how some people ate it all in under ten minutes. I forget what the record was. You also had to keep it down or pay for it.

Not a whole lot more than a Colt Walker, though.

Go to mass first. Is this where the phrase "can't hold a candle to it" comes from.

Ever notice those mega burritos come out about the same size and shape as there are before you eat it ?

When it started getting tough, you got to get made at that burrito.
