Tail End of Michael

Well as Michael swept through guilford county NC, we got whacked with winds and rain Thursday afternoon. Huge old oaks through/on top of 15 houses in my neighborhood and 3 flat cars. No power since Thursday afternoon. At least we have basics with generator. Send your prayers to the folks in Florida.

That's good. Duke Energy has been catching a lot of heat from customers in this area for what's deemed slow response and repair time.

I was fortunate. Big old trees all around me and really gusty winds, but none came down and I never lost power. Only blocks away from me, everyone was without power, traffic lights out, huge old oaks down everywhere.

Duke says they'll have power restored to everyone by Monday evening.

It ran through here about midnight Thursday. We lost power for about 18 hours and some areas are still without power. Local news said it was the most power outages in this area since Hurricane Isabel.
