Default Florida Sit Reps

Have we heard from any of our Florida members after the hurricane? Turnerriver comes to mind and any others that may have been in harms way.

Closest I can think of would be joeintexas, Pensacola I believe.
Points East of there were hardest hit with plenty more all the way to Virginia.
South Florida was spared any effect beyond more hot and wet air sucked up from the South.

Seems like damage was limited mostly to storm surge prone areas around Mexico Beach and Tyndall AFB. Wind wasn’t as bad as they told us, but still strong.

Pensacola was spared, some rain and winds up to 40. Panama City area took a big hit, news reports say it was the worst storm to hit the US in 50 years, much devastation.

We live outside Orlando , and all we got was some heavy winds and a lot of rain . I tell you , I was born and raised here , and I don't remember storms like these , and not so often . But then , my memory is pretty bad .

Doing fine, Thanks. Lot of wind, rain, and a few trees down. Went just east of us. Friends in Panama City, South Georgia had a hard hit. They are OK but electricity is slow coming back. WiregrassGuy was closer to the eye than me and I see him posting again Seems like we have several forum members in Tyndall AFB/Panama City area. I hope they are OK!

Default HURRICANES IN THE GULF,

Late season gulf hurricanes aren't something to be taken lightly, especially if you are living at or close to sea level. 170 + days so far this year > 90 degrees, makes that gulf water pretty warm & can intensify a storm pretty quick, as we just saw.

A lot of folks are being brought to Pensacola, Sacred Heart Hospital alone has over 70 brought in. I went to Winn-Dixie Sunday afternoon, it was packed, the cashier said it was mostly people from Panama City trying to get anything food wise they could. I understand churches, gyms and relief agencies are packed with folks that are displaced. So sad. Thousands homeless today. Many more still unaccounted for. Lots of prayers are needed now. We in Pensacola are very fortunate to have escaped most of that storm.
