I got my whisle back
Well I will on Thursday, I lost my front upper bridge, the bridge was the 4 front teeth. I saw a different dentist than my regular guy. this new dentist said it was a wonder the bridge lasted the 2 years that it was in. The anchor teeth were filed to short and the daily use finally broke the bridge.
This dentist has a plan to anchor then without having to file any more teeth.
I had planned to go see my oldest brother, he is in hospice, he has stage IV lung and pancreas cancer. but this dental thing happened.
Leonard, my brother is 3 year old then me, he was always looking after me, taking me with him, playing with me. He bought me my BB gun. he taught me to hot wire our dads car, and let me drive while he played mailbox baseball.
We kind of let our relationship slide after he got married and I joined the Air Force. we saw each other from time to time did manage a couple of fishing trips. but we just didn't make the time to be brothers. of course I lived in different states for so many years. Now I just want to let him know I never stopped caring about him; regret not taking the time to rebuild the relationship. I am going drive down state Sunday after church, its about 7-8 hour drive so I'll spend Monday with him. I will be able whistle for him like to taught me.

Older brothers are a gift we take for granted, after all as far as we know, they have always been there! Why wouldn't things just continue to be as they always have been.
In the last few years my 4 kids have lost one grandmother and one grand father. I've noticed an upswing in the calls and cards we get from them. I also notice they are spending more time with each other. Maybe they are wiser than I am, the know a good thing when they see it!
Enjoy you big brother, I almost lost mine 3 time in the last decade, but he really is tougher that I thought.

Carp, enjoy all the time you can with your brother. I lost mine many years ago and I miss him everyday. They really are special.

I know some of your pain. My older brother, my hero, has dementia and had to be placed in a care facility. He is in overall poor health, age related, but I will see him in about two weeks.
