Default Model 10s in Hong Kong

Been watching the news about the troubles in the far East. The Hong Kong Police, at least many shown as part of the riot detail, are are still packin' Model 10 HBs. Civil unrest, justified or not, is hard on all the parties involved. A peaceful and just outcome is hoped for!

I imagine a number of those are still marked RHKP for "Royal Hong Kong Police".

One of many such photos circulating of what appear to be Model 10 Heavy Barrel Smiths in use by the Hong Kong Police recently. (BTW, I don't think that they are called ROYAL Hong Kong Police anymore since the Chinese Communist authorities frown on Royal anything as being a disfavored remnant of colonialism.)

I bought a mod 10 RHCP (rollmarked on the back strap) about 20 years ago. It was pretty much as new. Word on gun boards like this one was Hong Kong had just received replacement mod 10's for their PD when the decision was made to go to automatics. There were also 10's marked HK Customs available on many surplus gun perviayers (sp?) websights. They were all 4" pencil barrels.

Until seeing the photo above, I'd never seen a Hong Kong gun with a heavy barrel. I wonder when they got them.

I've read they issue CZ-75 9mm's.
