A Heck of a Fishing Story
The wife's family came up today and we all went to the local lake and the dock to do some fishing. There were some nice fish caught, we ended up with a stringer of fish, bug sunfish, and a couple of small mouth bass, but my wife nailed the biggest fish of the day, a monster large mouth on a 3 foot dock rod and a nightcrawler.
The largemouth was 22 inches long, but he ended up weighing in at 6 pounds even which is what the scale at the local bait shop put it as. So we ended up taking it home and I got some of the nicest fillets off of it that you can imagine. The wife caught the biggest fish she's landed in years, although there's a nice bass here on the wall she caught back about 12 years ago. She's been fishing since she was a kid and certainly knows her stuff. This fish though will definitely have a lot of memories behind it.

Don't know which was the better catch - she with the bass, or you with her!

Nice Bass!!! That one I'd be proud to catch even down here.
I haven't been Bass catching since I moved three years ago. I'm sure they're around, just haven't gone looking. I know the Peacock Bass catching is over for me unless I go back south. That's OK. More saltwater opportunities up here for me.
