Who would have ever thought any judge in the USA would allow this to happen? The child and it seems the father have no rights. The courts in this country have gone insane.

I don't think this court case would be considered a banned topic by itself, but I fear that discussion might drift in that direction. So I offer this supplementary information.
The Infowars article is flat out wrong in its headline and lacks any significant detail that would help interested readers understand at a deeper level what is going on.
Here is an article from local media that reveals the jury's recommendation was NOT adopted by the Judge in today's ruling, and that the verdict leaves the joint custody agreement in place and prohibits any medical treatment without the agreement of both parents.

The article also mentions proposals by Texas state legislators to introduce legislation that would make such disputes impossible in the future.
I don't have a dog in this fight, and I take no opinion on the underlying question. I absolutely want the child to be protected from overenthusiastic control from either parent, and it sounds to me like the Judge took that position too.
Mods: If this is an inappropriate response to a prohibited topic, I'll take whatever ding you choose to lay on me. But I couldn't let this misrepresented situation go by without trying to mix in a fact or two.
