Default Breakfast, what's up?

This morning I made cherry crepes
Creme cheese with Morello cherries and juice folded in, then speed on a crepe. Topped with homemade cherry syrup.
Good thick sliced bacon and black coffee to go with them.

Default Eggs Benedict.

Yes, made at home.

Hollandaise sauce was tricky and not sure worth the effort.

But poached eggs in an automatic egg cooker, Canadian bacon warmed in the microwave, and English muffins in the toaster were something even I could not mess up.

Planning same thing tomorrow...pix will be posted.

Be safe.

Looks good.

I skipped breakfast this morning. I normally have oatmeal with fruit for breakfast, but I'm planning on trying a more savory oatmeal in the next day or two.

Something different this morning, warm milk over shredded wheat topped with fresh blueberries. Back to ham and eggs, or french toast tomorrow, maybe?

That all looks great, but I'm afraid of what it would do to my sugar.

I have a glass of dry Honey Nut Cheerios every morning, which is usually between 10 to 11:30 am for me.

When I visit my folks while their in FL for the winter we have a killer breakfast for dinner.

Scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon, and biscuits and gravy.

I'd love to find a restaurant that could cook like mom!

Thank goodness I don't have to worry about that! I've got enough other problems.
I don't use much sugar anywhere. No sweetened cereals, always cut amounts down to care minimums when cooking or baking.
Generally, I prefer savories to sweets.

I fix breakfast every morning. Generally bacon, eggs and hash browns.

Sometimes I replace the hash browns with either French toast or pancakes.

Some times a nice bone in ham steak is good too.

Toasted 1/2 bagel with sharp white cheddar, Canadian bacon, and a fried egg on top. I can eat it with one hand and navigate the Forum with the other.

Your pics are terrific. Yummy.

Same with me on making crepes this morning. Unusual.

2 cups of milk, 2 cups of powder, 6 eggs, vanilla, sugar, salt, oil.
makes about 10 large crepes, medium thin. the trick is in the viscosity of the mix; will it spread around the pan?

added maple syrup or honey. sometimes huckleberry or peach preserves.

I LOVE breffus. It’s my favorite of the three squares. I also love breakfast for dinner!

I’m making breakfast tacos for dinner tonight. Scrambled eggs, jimmy dean, cheese, flour tortillas and OJ.

I was at Walmart last year, and grabbed what I thought was a family size box of Honey Nut Cheerios.

When I opened them up they were the evil Pumpkin Spice Cheerios. The boxes look a lot alike, and I never paid attention. I do now.

I threw them out.

I haven't had bacon in awhile so this morning 4 strips thick cut bacon two eggs over medium and toast. Also had coffee brewed in moms old percolator. Sunday morning will be oats, fruit and couple Williams sausage patties.

Well I did it... made sourdough pancakes some bacon and eggs. Wife used homemade strawberry jam. I used syrup. That evening I cooked up a steak with fried onions and made hash browns with onions and a little green pepper.... I even took a package of broccoli out of the freezer. Don't have much left. The darn deer cleaned off last years before we hardly got any. Now the good wife(that I seldom see) is going to make some nice home made brownies. Soon I hope!

Today the Mrs. fetched carryout biscuits and gravy, bagel sandwiches and Denver skillets from a locally-owned diner that's trying to stay afloat. Bill came to around $20, and she left $40. The owner was my partner when I was in the restaurant business 30 years ago.

Pulled out the old cast iron skillet to fry up potatoes and onions for breakfast for dinner the other night, with sausage and scrambled eggs. Now I want breakfast three times a day. But given that I'm only halfway to my goal of losing 60 lbs., I guess I'm stuck with nonfat yogurt and an apple.

[QUOTE=Skeet 028;140725134. Now the good wife(that I seldom see) is going to make some nice home made brownies. Soon I hope![/QUOTE]

The good wife didn't make brownies...but she went one better...made 2 cakes... a yellow and chocolate ...waiting for the icing to be applied. Or I may say to heck with it and get some vanilla ice cream out of the freezer and apply that to a nice slice sans icing....Which one first...choc or yeller??

BTW cake is great for breakfast!!

This morning, I made the wife and me oven-baked popover sized Pannekoekens with fried cinnamon-spiced apple slices in a brown sugar butter sauce to top. A sprinkle of powdered sugar on the Pannekoekens and a side of links to finish. I can't forget to mention the cups of 100% Columbian coffee.

I haven't had a Pannekoeken since I was a young boy in Minnesota. Yum, hot from the oven, thanks for the memory!

My granddaughter and son are with me for the duration.

I doubt they’ll be up before noon, but when they do stir, I’ll start a favorite Sunday meal;

David Eyre’s Pancake Recipe - NYT Cooking

With chokecherry syrup and bacon.

Just went through some of that diet stuff myself because of the old ticker. I found the secret for me was portion control. Once my stomach shrank, I got full fast.
That also means you can eat almost anything you want; But only a bite. Helped me to not feel I was depriving myself of life's little goodies.

My problem was WHITE. Once I cut out pasta, rice, potatoes, and bread; the pounds started to fall off. The salt and sugar seemed easy; but I was dreaming about bread at night, and that is the sure sign of a sick puppy. My dreams are reserved for other stuff.

This breakfast thread is a challenge, huh? Lots of goodies,

Seems like You all have a lot of extra time with this stay at home thing. Made me hungry. Been retired 6 years now and change breakfast daily so I don't get bored. Tired of casting and reloading so I started cooking. Breakfast: sausage, cheese, mushroom, and sour cream omelet with green chili, or french toast, or pancakes, or hashbrowns, onions, and sausage and eggs OE with green chili, or biscuits and gravy with OE eggs, or oatmeal with fruit. Lunch: 2 cookies. Dinner: chicken thigh(smoked), ribs(smoked), pork chop, baked sweet potato, asparagus sauted in butter, sea salt, and garlic, Elk stew, and once in a while a ribeye.

Got some company for a few days. This AM I made some cranberry orange pancakes with cranberry maple orange syrup, and bacon.

For the syrup I used real maple syrup and orange liquor. Very tasty.

I love breakfast any time of the day too. Full English for me once in a while, with Baked Tomato, Baked Beans, Rasher of Bacon and Sausages, Fried Bread, Mushrooms and Black Pudding. And of course Eggs. Set for the whole day..
