"Get in "Queue" at WalMart!
https://www.businesswire.com/news/ho...0403005524/en/
Single file please, one way "traffic" NEXT!
Regulating store entry
Starting Saturday, we will limit the number of customers who can be in a store at once. Stores will now allow no more than five customers for each 1000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a store’s capacity.
To manage this restriction, the associates at a store will mark a queue at a single-entry door (in most cases the Grocery entrance) and direct arriving customers there, where they will be admitted one-by-one and counted. Associates and signage will remind customers of the importance of social distancing while they’re waiting to enter a store – especially before it opens in the morning.
Once a store reaches its capacity, customers will be admitted inside on a “1-out-1-in” basis.
Shopping inside the store

Another reason to avoid the place!

Just made a massive supply run to WM.
Food and sundries for months.
Shouldn’t be an issue considering we will be back up and running like normal by Easter.

I prefer it when grocery stores in my neighborhood do this. Today, went to my local bank and they are doing it, too. Liquor store was doing it two days ago.
I like it given our current situation.

Just stopped at Home Depot for some keys.
They’re limiting the number of customers too.
It was odd for customers to be outnumbered by the staff!

Interesting. Seems like WalMart will do just about anything to avoid opening a second check-out line. I wonder if they will continue allowing pajama bottoms with halter tops and shower shoes as the standard uniform for 'WalMartian' shoppers. Will they still allow 'emotional support' animals in the shopping aisles?
My last trip to WalMart coincided with the arrival of a truckload of toilet paper. 50 to 100 shoppers lined up while employees broke open shipping cases and handed out two packages per shopper, all under the scrutiny of armed and uniformed police officers (not security guards) on hand to keep the peace for such an event.
Interesting times.

I take it when the Strip reopens you're going to do stand-up somewhere with that and a whole bunch of other COVID-19 gags.
Oh, oh, here's one:
"We were told we'd be back to normal by Easter, but nobody would say in which year".

Odds are that you wouldn't be, unless you're in the old age with underlying conditions risk category. Since you're a frequent contributor here, I'm guessing you are.

I'll believe it when I see it. My thoughts are we will be under control even after 5/1/2020. We gave up a lot of freedom after 9/11 and I honestly think this is the next step.

...since a small Walmart is at least an acre (43,560 square feet)...
...that's 215+ people in at any one time...
...good luck keeping count...
...let's hope they don't hit the restroom all at once...

The closest WalMart is 128,000 square feet, so that's still a BUNCH of people.
The store where I work is 59,000 square feet, and we are limited to 100 customers at a time. If we went by Wal Mart's standards that would be nearly triple.

...128,000 would be 640 at WalMart...
...again...let's hope they used the can BEFORE they left home...

Here in San Antonio (and likely other locations around the country), Wal-Mart has three "Neighborhood Stores" one of which is not too far from my home. They generally duplicate the grocery and produce areas of the regular Wal-Mart stores, and don't stock the other merchandise. We stopped into one of them Thursday morning, and it was great. No crowds at all, no waiting, and all the shelves were well stocked, even with the "scarce" items like TP, milk, eggs, etc. We filled a basket with everything on my wife's list and left, in and out in about 20 minutes. We had first gone to a Sam's Club, and couldn't even get into the parking lot, so we went to the Neighborhood Store instead.
