Is this the re-run of th last remake, with Edward James Olmos, and the blonde girl Starbuck?

My favorite part of the original Battle Star Galactica, was the opening theme.

It's the last remake that was originally broadcast on scifi.

Like most retreads, I think it's no where as good as the original and probably won't watch it.

The best original Battlestar Galactica episode was when the Viper pilots contracted a unknown virus (sound familiar?) and the shuttle pilots ( all beautiful young women) were training to fly combat missions in the Vipers.
Standing around in one piece skin tone "long johns" with bikini's over them was outstanding.

I just acquired the entire series on DVD. I'll have to check for that episode.

After growing up watching Lorne Greene as "Ben Cartwright" this show just doesn't work for me.

I vastly prefer the original. The remake was more like a soap opera version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" where everyone sits and talks about who is really a Cylon and in the end end - everyone was.

Lorne Greene isn't in the remake, but Richard Hatch appears in both series, in the first as Lorne Greene's son, in the second as a convicted terrorist.

As a kid, I thought June Lockhart was both a nice and attractive woman, even if she was about my mother's age.Too bad she wasn't part of my generation.
Later on, when the BG series came on, I learned that she had a daughter about my own age, and just as lovely. Wow. Anne Lockhart!

I did not like the original, but the remake was terrific. It's very unusual for a remake to best the original, but this one did by far.

I loved both the original and reimagined series. I've corresponded before with Edward James Olmos. He likes being called "Admiral".

76 continuous sequential episodes. Catching up on the ones I missed/avoided. When it came on 15 years ago I only watched the beginning episodes and then it got boring. Then watched the ending episodes when they announced the series was ending. Evidently missed a lot in between.

Oh wow! Somehow I missed the rescue mission to New Caprica when the series originally aired. Saw it last night. I won't spoil it for those that have it on tape, but there are a few choice quotes:
"Standby for turbulence"
"Altitude?".
"90,000 feet and falling like a rock"
"Well, this'll be different"

I really love those pre-tattoos and piercing girls. Being in my late 20s. Its hard to find one that does not look like a walking pin cushion.

I received the first season of BSG: Reimagined on DVD as an Attaboy award at work several years ago. I watched it but it got old by the end of the season. I never really had any interest in the remake after that.
I loved the original when I was a kid. We have a local station that plays all science fiction. All the different iterations of Star Trek, Buck Rogers with Gil Gerard and the original BSG. I never realized how cheesy it was.
I was watching an episode called The Lost Warrior with Red West guest starring one night. I got about half way through it and I realized I was watching a remake of Shane.
I don't think I've watched it since.
