It's amazing that most all first responders around here wear masks when helping out people. Saw a few yesterday
They should just protest, contact their Unions and refuse to wear them. Heck go on strike. No one can tell "them" what to do.

It is absolutely useless for me to wear a mask like that. I have a deviated septum...aka a "crooked nose"...and I just cannot get any mask to conform to my nose and seal well enough to have any benefit for me (or those around me).

I’ll be wearing one until the boss says different. Being “Essential” ain’t what it’s cracked up to be.

I wore one the other day to go into academy, and a couple times when I've gone to a local bait/ bow shop for odds and ends.... academy was requiring them, the bow shop is just being respectful to an older proprietor.

Nevada has gone to phase #1 with the rate going down to 11%.
Some businesses are being open for business at 50% of volume
and a 6 foot separation is mandatory with mask for business people.
No casino's , movie houses, bars , or exercise rooms etc. will be allowed to open as yet, that don't serve food, only.
We will test things out until May 30th to see how things work out.
IF no flame ups, more business may open up.....
HOWEVER;
County laws CAN make more restrictions if they see fit, for the safety of the public.

I think that's a largely sensible starter plan but it all comes down to testing: are the tests used any good (there are hundred out there now and most are neither sensitive nor specific enough to be considered any good), and administered widely enough to get a representative sampling of the population?

I guess, my small corners of Eden....
The county that hang out in the bluegrass has a population of about 21,000.
Nine confirmed cases of covid.....Zero deaths.
The county were I'm at in Texas, with a population of 19,000
has six reported cases and one suspected death from the virus.
I'm not all that over the top on this....But, something is afoot with big pharma.

I was at a shop the other day chatting when a guy walked in with kerchief and cap channeling George Carlin
by holding up his fingers saying "Alright mother stickers this is a 'foul' up!".

The mask? At least until the first Tuesday in November then it will have served its purpose.
The collar and leash may go on forever.

Before we get too judgemental when we see someone out and about but not wearing a mask, let's remember that there are those that cannot tolerate a mask because of medical reasons. Here in cornfields and cows country, those people are exempt from wearing a mask.

Does the 'Mask' offer protection, or does it offer a sense of security?
Powers that forces edicts on personal health, also be aliken to the same powers that handed out blankets with smallpox s.
I put little to no faith in the WHO, CDC or those individuals that stand to profit from fear and panic.
The folks of this Republic are strong....We have survived World Wars, and many other maladies....
Hell fire, we even survived the Jimmy Carter years !!!

I wear one, makes other folks happy. I do worry someone might get the wrong idea if'n the wind lifts my shirt and exposes the artillery. Joe

Problem is around here anyway, no one knows what 6 feet is. Reminds me of another joke about a certain male appendage....

The real test of the mask's effectiveness is not if you can blow a candle out through it.
Can you blow your nose through it?
Can you expectorate through it?
It's there to prevent your virus-laden droplets from being spread around.

At 67 years old, I lived through those other events. I don't ever recall 80,000 Americans dying in a couple of months (as of today) with the total projected to be much higher before this is all over.
This article was published last month, written by a New York City FD Battalion Chief...I think he would respectfully disagree with your comments.
I hope you and yours stay healthy...

i still don't see why masks are a big deal.i can wear a bandana all day long without noticing it.
i can just pull it up when needed.
since everyone here wears cowboy hats, no one would even notice.
if i'm protecting people it doesn't feel like an infringement of my liberty.
of course, i often wear a bandana for other reasons anyway.
no big deal.

I was a bad boy.
Sunday night, in honor of Mother's Day, we stoked the fire pit and fired up the grill. Within half an hour there were 16 people in my backyard. Among them were bored and curious neighbors and their kids.
I told them to grab a seat, a plate and a beverage and climb aboard.
There were no masks. Although I am at risk I really didn't much care as you can't consume mass quantities with masks on. It was a delightful time without a single cough or sneeze.
I get tested Thursday so I'll let you know how I did.
As always, smoke 'em if ya got 'em.✌
