This morning a disabled friend of mine had an appointment. I volunteered to drive. We got finished right at noon, so we swung into Sonic for lunch.
Started to order our usual Super Sonic double bacon cheeseburgers when the voice on the speaker came back "Sorry, are currently aren't serving double burgers. Single patty only". WHAT!
Sure nuff, there was a message on the order screen which read:
"We are currently serving a limited menu.
Some of the items you want may not be available.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Ok, I can deal with social distancing, wearing masks, so many places closed and all the other stuff Covid has brought us.
BUT NO BACON DOUBLE CHEESEBURGERS! Oh man, that's over the line!

The end times are truly upon us.

"OK gimmie 2 single patty burgers & keep 1/2 the bread!" There's a diet of some sort where you get a burger wrapped in lettuce instead of bread, maybe you could get one of those & a regular one & put it all together...

Americans have become so addicted to privilege, we can barely handle the slightest of inconveniences.

Next time take Jack Nicholson with you and let him order.

I remember that. I always wanted to do something like that. The closest I ever came was at a Burger King one time. I was inside at the counter and above was a big sign with all the menu items with prices and pictures of each one.

I ordered a mustard Whopper. The picture showed a burger with meat lettuce and tomato all visible all around extending out past the edges of the bun. What I got was the bun with nothing extending outside it and when I opened it up there was a small patty, about 5 or 6 small pieces of chopped onion and the stem end of a small tomato.

I took it back up and called the manager over. I opened it up and asked him what it was. He leaned over and looked and said "That's a mustard whopper. I said I want one that looks like the picture over your head. Have you ever taken a look at that. He told me that I got what I ordered.

I asked for my money back. He refused so I slapped down on it with my open hand and it went every where. He threatened to call the police and I said fine when your get through call your lawyer because you are going to need him.

I swiped all the mess off the counter onto the floor and walked out. That is the day I discovered Whataburger. Haven't been back to a Burger KIing since and have no plans to do so.

I used to eat regularly at a place called Cafe Mimi in the Pittsburgh area. One day I looked at the menu, didn't see anything I wanted, so I said "I'll have the beef stew." Waitress, who we saw couple times a week tells me they don't have beef stew on the menu. So this goes on for about 4 visits, I ask for beef stew, she tells me they don't have it...then she says, "Give me your phone number and I'll call you when beef stew is on the menu. About two weeks later my phone rings, "Mr. L, this is Mimi Stutz, from Cafe Mimi, we have a beef stew special today." So I go to the restaurant, and the waitress is smiling from ear to ear 'cause she know what I'm gonna ask for. She walks over, and I say, "I'll have a chicken salad sandwich." She snatched the menu out of my hand and said, "YOU'RE HAVING BEEF STEW!" We all got a good laugh out of that. And I got a phone call every time they had beef stew.

Well, your first mistake was stopping at a Sonic. Once was once to many for me. Go to Carls.

Probably did yourself a favor by not having the super sonic double bacon cheeseburger. I know your intestines and colon thanked you for it.

Never been to the Sonic in the area and it has nothing to do with the lovely pair of coconuts schilling for the chain nor the quality of the food. I just go the same distance in the other direction for a whatever they got burger with a side of chili cheese fries from Checkers.

Expect the unexpected

....the Soviet Union seems to be panning out. Nothing in stock, shortages of everything. No one gives a rip.

We pulled into Taco Bell yesterday and I ordered some tacos. After waiting in line for long period, when we got to the window we were told to pull around the other side of the building because the tacos weren't ready. I wouldn't have been surprised if they said "We don't have any tacos".

Added a ghost pepper, scotch bonnet and some seasoning. That ought to do it.

I've got you all beat..We have a little place in the country that we go to and do the meal planning according to how long were going to be there. (This is before the virus) So I tell the wife that for one night I'll drive to town and bring back some KFC. Day 2 late afternoon rolls around so I head off to town, roll in the drive thru at KFC, she comes on to take my order and I say I'd like a bucket of chicken, mixed. She comes back and says thay don't have any and I tell her that I'll wait thinking there's some in the fryer. She says "Sir, we don't have ANY chicken".
