DIY Deck help
So I took on a diy deck, and need some advice. (before it's asked the "deck kit" I purchased didn't have a ledger and I wasn't prepared to tackle installing a ledger to the house) So I finished my 16x20 deck and have this gap between the house and the deck. Any ideas on how to "fill the gap" thanks for any advice.

How wide is the gap between house & deck? Referring to double 2x?.
Why the gap between end of deck boards and deck frame?
How much clearance underside of deck & ground?
I ask the question to help with the thought process of how to resolve it. it

I would probably go with flower boxes with an extra 2x2 spacer between the house and flower box to keep moisture off the siding

Between house and deck 12 inches
Deck and ground about 36 inches
Deck boards and frame was an oops on my part even I set the posts. I have a plan for there though.

Lag bolt a treated 2x8 to the house, be sure and pre drill the studs and use an impact hammer drill, then you could continue your deck boards. They are normally five quarters, but yours look thinner than that but just match what you have.

Agree with Farmer 17. That is what I would do. Hint, if you think water may collect here, you could do this short span with a gap between the boards of 1/2 inch or to your specifications. just make spacers to use and it will look great in the end with the spaces.
